  • wonderful aircraft but I must ask how does it compare to a 172 and grumman tiger

  • Makes me laugh ever time! Funny video

  • Dude can you make more vids

  • 0:47 rocks ¡¡

  • HEY DONT FORGET TO ..1-CHECK OIL PRESS 2-CHECK SUCTION GAUGE 3- CHECK AMP METER I DONT KNOW IF IS PART OF THE CHECKLIST,BUT THESE ARE VERY CRITICAL COMPONENTS OR AS MY INSTRUCTOR USED TO TELL ME THESE ARE "KILLERS" THEY CAN KILL YOU. GOOD JOB....FAA PRIVATE PILOT LICENSE.

  • You know it's proper procedure to close all the cabin heat as if the engine sets on fire on start then you don't get all smoked in the cockpit. Plus it's also good to keep the throttle nice and tight on the takeoff roll as on VR you don't want to go idle.

  • Great..... I like to watch these kind of vids as it puts me into the "hot seat" when I'm not fortunate enough to be able to afford flying lessons. Thanks.

  • Haha! Awesome video. Thanks! I start flight school in a 150 on Saturday. :)

  • @PlayTilTheyBleed Great! Good luck. Tell me how it goes.

  • I'm sorry to have to say this, but this is inadequate. Students, enjoy the video, but don't learn from it. RPM is too high while waiting; RPM is too low for run-up; it should be 1700. Why a carb check when the engine is not running? Mags check is way to fast to observe any difference between the two. I could go on...

  • @mdu2112 Firstly may I thank you for commenting, I appreciate all views immensely. Secondly I will address the issues raised in the comment, if I may, starting with the RPM being too high while waiting. The reason I was idling the engine at 1200RPM is because of a club rule that, that particular aircraft should idle at 1200 after initial start. You mention that the engine run up should be at 1700, of which it was, at 5:42 you can clearly here me say "bring up the engine to 1700". cont...

  • @mdu2112 I don't quite know how you worked out the RPM as the Tachometer was obscured by the sun. I can however assure you that I did the run up at 1700, thus rendering you carb ice comment redundant also. Although I will agree with you that I probably did to the mag- check too fast, you can be assured that it will no longer be the case. I will also add that I also do a second mag check before entering the runway. Cont...

  • @PPLPilotUK At 5:47 to 5:50, the tach is visible, but it also coincides with your carb heat check, so my reading of the gauge is correct, but my interpretation is wrong; we do hear the engine rev up again with carb heat cold, and I'm sure it went back to 1700 RPM. Mag check before entering the runway? I didn't or don't practice that.

  • I'm saying that pulling carb heat on/off at 2:10, when the engine it NOT RUNNING (0 RPM I can see, even with the sun!) is useless.

  • @mdu2112 Finally may I address any students watching this video and say that this video was not put here in the hope of teaching other pilots. That is done by the instructor. It was here to entertain you for 6 minuets and do nothing further. I believe I would be insulting the intelligence of any student pilot by assuming that they watch this video for educational purposes. Cont...

  • @mdu2112 And could I add that on a personal note, I find your comment with its "helpful" criticism most annoying. And in future may I advise you to keep such comments to yourself where I believe that they are best placed.

  • @PPLPilotUK Words of wisdom when you say that learning is from a qualified instructor. My comments were along those lines. How did I offend you? I never suggested that your an idiot, or said inflammatory comments like "This video sucks", I did not even "Dislike" it. Chill.

  • @mdu2112 ... Oh, and please go on, I would genuinely like to hear what else is in your list.

  • @PPLPilotUK Sorry, I rubber you the wrong way, but here' goes:

Pushing on the screw-on fuse caps seems odd, especially when going so fast over the resettable breakers.

The oil pressure should be closely monitored during and soon after start. You mention it much later.

At the end of the run up, I apply carb heat when checking engine idle.

  • @mdu2112 Youre an idiot, if you would watch the whole video, instead of making quick assumptions, you would see he did a full run-up at 1700rpm. btw he checks the carb heat before engine start for freedom of movement. I do the same thing. He was running 1200RPM after start, which isnt going to hurt it, warm-up is usually 1000-1200rpm. I could go on..

  • @therabbit0 Oh, you little flamer, you... I happened to watch your video "Cessna 150 Engine Run-up", and thought that it was a much better example of how to conduct a run-up. I guess you're right: I *am* an idiot. Merry Christmas. Fly safe.

  • @mdu2112 thanks, you too!

  • Would anyone want to fly with this guy? He scares the crap out of me. Stick with 150. Its already too complicated for you

  • @sinfuldavy0 What have I done to offend you? Also, may I ask what have I done incorrectly? I stuck religiously to the check- list, and made sure all items were completed.

  • @PPLPilotUK The whole production sounds like a Monty Python movie. Imagine you are a passenger of a larger aircraft, say a 727 and you had audio to the pilot (you) wouldn't his run up make you nervous? It would me. You are probably a very good pilot but you sound very jumpy. Its just a confidence thing. Sorry bud, I didn't mean to offend you. If flying be your source of love, fly on

  • Sounds like Bruce Dickonson. Id happily fly with him :)

  • Have you been mixing Redbull with cofee?? jajaja...thanx 4 the video.

  • Awesome video!! I enjoyed it very much.

  • Put your watch on. And what a nervous voice.

  • @elstevros

Thank you for your most helpful comment. I am sure I will be a better pilot because of it.

  • best sound

  • good video... Didn't check the park brake or atis ... Great video !!

  • u forgot to check altimeter...

anyway great video, best regards from Poland

  • Wonderful video, Sir, and thanks so much for the "Odd" commentary. It just adds some delight-fulness to it.

    Best regards

  • @TheZentaomanager

    Thank you, sir!

  • How much will it cost and how long for me to get my PPL in the UK? I'm now 29 and I've been dreaming of being a pilot since I was around 5!

  • sounded like he said cool prop LOL

  • one thing, i must say, you forgot to mention is to apply brakes before you start the engine. Other wise ooopss !!!!!!!!!

  • you just go one more subscriber and that is me :)

  • Everything great except the chap poking around the propeller didn't have time to answer you when you called out "clear prop" through the window!! Great video though!!

  • Dad used to take me up in the 150/152/172 when I was young. Cool stuff!

  • good video! but, check out for unlocked clock, its a hazard.

  • Love the 150 and 152

  • Two different mag checks-thorough for sure. This really brings back memories-sounds and even smells associated with the airplane.

  • Good video, you should put some more up.
