It was written by Lestie Bricusse as one of the tunes he wrote for the original 1967 Doctor Dolittle Movie. Rex Harrison (Dr.Dolittle) sang it to a seal named Sophie. I always thought this tune would make a great jazz ballad, but could never find anyone who knew the tune or cared to learn it. Loved it 40+ years ago and still love it today.
As for comparing Krall and Eder's voices, it simply can't be done. The have two completely different styles and sound.
Oh please, give me a break! It would be nice if Diana Krall could sing at all. Let alone seeing any comparisons of songs both Linda Eder and Diana Krall sing. Ms. Eder is simply the BEST! I get so sick of hearing that screechy "so called voice" of Diana Krall's even being mentioned in the same breath with Ms. Eder's.
JACK JONES SINGS IT BEST.

ammei03, I wasn't comparing who is better or not, I just simply prefer Linda's version, that's all ! Diana's is okay as well, no doubt about it !

A voice like the delicate sound of a vesper bell ~~in this beautiful rendition ~~
As far as comparing ~~ why not just enjoy each talent for their own qualities ~~
