Just made a great find yesterday at a Salvation Army. Glad I had my iPhone on me to go onto Ebay. Found Vintage 1980 Bell Motto 3 Motorcycle Helmet. Bought it for $5 and they have been selling on Ebay for over $150. First time ever doing this. My wife says I want make money like this so I am out to prove her wrong. With thrift store and iPhone and Ebay hopefully will be able to get good deals and sell for at least 100% profit or higher.
I just went to a box lot auction and picked up a pair of Infinity speakers, technics sl1200mk2 turntable, 2 1960's Ideal brand robot toys, and a 1994 MTH repro of a "Mr. Atomic" robot toy. All that and more for 150 bucks. I got back to my house and found out the stuff I got was worth over 1200 bucks. Not bad for 3 hours work. BTW I only paid 25 for the Mr. Atomic and hes worth around 550. Woot. I love that feeling.
@jmh30us Actually many of them do. Goodwill and Salvation Army are eBay sellers. The good thing is that they still miss some of the valuable things that come into their stores as donations. Serious collectors and re-sellers will go to a thrift store every day, at least 2 times to find stuff that has been put out fresh. I feel like it's about 10 years too late for me to sell on eBay, the market got so flooded back when the economy was better, blah-blah. Happy treasure hunting!
@hugmepleaze That is SOO awesome!! It's a TOTAL BUZZ to pull that kind of profit off of cool stuff!! I LOVE Those stories! I found an AISC book from the 40's and was a second edition. Paid .25 cents at the church rummage sale. Brought OVER 100.00!! You talk up about getting all jacked up!! WOW!! And I didn't even need the ROCKSTAR!! HAHA..Thanks for sharing!! Please come back soon and have great day!
been doing this now for a few years. Some times you go you don't find a thing worth looking at...other times I can't believe how full my arms are of collectibles that make huge profits.
@MakingMovesMajor I wasn;' aware that thrift stores were a "best kept secret", after all, there was a popular 'zine about 10 years ago called Thrift Score, many books about thrift store shopping, many blog sites, and videos like this one which are on the internet so thousands/millions can find out about thrift stores... not really a "secret"...

I found an old Airplane engine manual from the 1940's at a Goodwill Outlet store for 70 cents and sold it for $54. It's a great high! :)
