The real problem with the German war machine was that they did not standardize the tank manufacturers. Tanks were made by more than one company in Germany, and each used their own parts which were not compatable with the other. When a tank broke down, it stayed down because the parts were not available and could not be taken from other tanks out of service. trying to fight a two front war was ludicrous also.
It's the Winter that destroyed the Germans and when they got real food in, they gave it to their soldiers without rationing them back onto diets so they virtually "fed them to death".
you are missing the point. the T-34 though superior or inferior (depending on your oppinion) is not what defeated the Germans. It's strength was in it's simplicity, easy to mass produce, easy to maintain, easy to fix forward. Technology is nice but numbers annihalate.
Its estimated that the German Heavy Battle Tanks (Jadgpanther/Strumtiger) if slightly more mechanically sound could have been an even match for the Russian T72 tanks. To think that they could have won slug-fests with tanks some 20-30 years younger than them is incredible.
Without a source, I'm afraid that's all hot air on your part. A tank isn't just armor and gun. The T-72 would have an infinite advantage in fire control with a much more lethal gun and just as capable armor (if not more so.) German designs were good and all, but to wank them as something they aren't is a crime to History. After all, I highly doubt a Sherman (76) or T-34-85 would be successful against a T-72.
If you ever get a chance to see the Jagdpanther up close i guarantee it will make your heart stop for a moment or two. It may not have been mechanically sound but good God the thing is a monster.
Hello, I had this of building this diorama, that, in the battle of bulge (1944) most probably General Patton had the chance of inspecting some of the german armour, left behind after battle, and knowing the firepower and armour as Gen Patton did, the sight of a Jagdtiger, (even today) can still cause a moment of pause, in order to give a detail look at it. It was that idea that I tried to catch with this diorama.
T-34 was the best tank , that is not a secret ! wake up !

I prefer german tanks over american tanks.
But it's not the tank that matters, it's who has order over them and what they do that wins a battle.

the T-72 is a pile of shite.........a Tiger I could still easily kick it's ass to oblivion

yeah right a t -72 fitted with reactive armour can survive a direct hit from an abrams tank what chance would a 88mm gun from a tiger have

Essentially, Russia, Detroit, Chicago, and Rock Island flooded Germany with so many tanks, they couldn't destroy them fast enough.

I think it was better than the regime of that time could not produce so many thanks...they had no robots then, so they used slave work.

not really later war german tanks were unrealiable hevily armoured and gunned but if it cant move or go far on its fuel tank its not a good tank
