  • great!

  • I was at this Pott's camp event. I remember him being on stage but I didn't remember this song specifically. I found it on ytube not long after the event and learned the song. I still play it. It's in open D. DADF#AD. The first part kindof messes with the timing(it's not your regular 12bar blues. It uses the music to fit the lyrics.) Thelast part (if you pretend your in standard tuning{which yournot} would be fingered B/G#..C/G#..C#/A..etc... ..For what that's worth.

  • I just read Keith Richards autobiography and he is a proponent of the open E tuning. Memphistown's comment about open E made me think of this. I don't know much about different tunings, but apparently you only use 5 strings with the open "E". Keith Richard said it allowed him greater ease in playing.

  • @ssur55 5 strings with openG. GDGBD. Open E is EBEG#BE. Open D is DADF#AD a whole step down from open E Bless!

  • This is my pastor! I admire him so much, he has taught me most of what I know:)

  • terrific version, your old man taught you well Sir

  • I play it in open D, but it'll work in any open tuning.

  • Simply amazing, I almost got tears running down my eyes

  • this is a great video and song. john wilkins is a great artist and his music should be in some musice soundtracks, now that would be great to hear! keep up the good work john

  • This is fantastic.

In a live performance anything can happen, but I sure miss the verse when his dad "I believe that's my son comin' home to me." I only noticed it, because that's the one that so heart-breaking.

  • anyone know the tuning?

  • I play it in open E-tuning and it works real fine. Try it and enjoy it

  • He's playing DADF#AD. If you watch part 2 of Stefan Grossman's Vestapol lesson he gives you the skinny on how to play this tune, have fun!

  • The Stones gave credit to this guy! whether they gave him the royalties you should ask Allen Klien who screwed everyone ! The Stones, The Beatles. Best song on Beggars Banquet!

  • Wonderful song and wonderful version ! Thanx a lot !

  • much greater than the stones version love that

  • Excellent song. 5 stars.

    Thanks for uploading.

  • I worked security for this, he is awesome.

  • "great!!!"

  • Your father was great!

  • I heard his dad's voice (this song) 11 years ago, and I have been searching for that song since. I didn't even find out his name until today, and now I'm listening to everything he's got.

What was funny is the name of one of his album's was "Remember me." Man, that's exactly what I did!
