@Kpilot786457 a good bit faster than a 5700 on 2s lipo, but gets very hot. The 5700 on 3s is faster than a 7700 though, and the 7700 can not handle 3s.

thanks! my pack was a matched pack so not your average 7 cell. geared 23/76 I got 52.3 mph out of it (speed runs on asphalt). geared 17 or 18/90 for general bashing it ran in the low to mid 40's depending on surface. An unmatched 7 cell should yielded high 30's to low 40's, mid 40's geared for street speed runs.

well, the skaters that were there were happy to share their park with me. It was a 100 degree Fahrenheit day and we took turns roasting out under the sun. I was driving in the parking lot and they invited me into their park for some fun. keep your negativity to yourself.

The rustler just sold, it was MM5700 powered.

Here's a crazy yet awesome idea: Take an old 6 cell battery from a laptop and use it in one of these, should work, just take out the power module from the laptop and wire it.

yeah, the general rule of thumb is 2 teeth under the motor turns for 540 motors in a Rusty. With 12t being the smallest pinion available you can not gear the truck properly on anything under 14t. 10t motors are best left for touring cars.

Hi I have a rustler with an xl-10 and it can take down to a 10 turn and 7 cells. How fast would that make it go. I am debating whether or not to get just a motor and battery or go with the brushless system.

You can not gear a 10t brushed motor properly in a Rusty. The smallest 32p pinion available is a 12 tooth by losi, which would allow a 14t motor. I love the BL, no maintenance and fast!

You can buy them online or at a hobby shop. You can get a VXL model for about $300 + batteries and charger. I have a bit over $600 into mine now.

great vid. Ive got a rustler with a novak 8.5 xbr sport and it has a lot of power but the top speed is not as fast. only about 35mph on 15/86 gearing. But i have huge tires.What gearing are you using and how long is your runtime with that 4200mah batt. I get 20mins or more of hardcore driving. Do you know the fastest you got it to. Thanks

Thanks, glad you liked it. I get 20+ minutes of bashing, or about 15 minutes of speed runs. Geared 21/83 I got 52.3 (GPS'ed) on 7 cells. I've hit 65.5 on a borrowed 3s lipo. For the video I ran 17/90 since I did not need alot of top speed, but heavy gearing for more rapid acceleration.

now that is true bashing, i just got my mamba 5700 and im running the same ib4200 but what i have found is that the rusty rolls alot, i bash alot in gravel or dirt, is it my setup or what?

Could be. I flipped alot when I first got my MM5700. Alot of it is getting used to throttle control with all that power on tap.
