Suppose we could time travel back to just a few days before the 1054 Schism. We, the Orthodox would right at home in the church AND we would be able to partake of the Holy Communion because the line has not been broken. The Western Christians would be totally lost and nothing would be familiar. Worse, they would NOT be able to take Holy Communion as they would be considered as heretics. We are not better or holier than anyone, we just did not stray from the true church.
So, this seems like the best place to ask this, but what exactly makes Orthodoxy Orthodoxy? I'm a Protestant (a Baptist, specifically), and am curious as to what differences there are between our respective interpretations of Christianity.
@Dumbledore303 That's a really big question. I highly recommend reading Timothy Ware's book The Orthodox Church. But in a nutshell, Orthodox Christianity asserts itself to be the church that has maintained its tradition unbroken since apostolic times. Orthodox identity is expressed in worship, primarily corporate. And Orthodoxy is very aware of its past, remembering those who have come before and striving to uphold the faith as did the "great cloud of witnesses" the author of Hebrews describes.
Orthodoxy was originally expressed by Jesus Christ, your religion as a baptist or protestant worships the same God as us orthodox christian, but has a lot of missing pieces to the full truth, that's all.
2. I've distress everywhere as once They'd here. Mom coming down holds me up in Her arms, so that I am saved from all calamities. She's on top of the line I'm in the bottom of abyss. She never abandons me. She follows me wherever I'm. She loves Dad & me. Now I know how to make Her Happy: Loving Dad & Her with all my heart & do All Dad's Will. I'll follow Jesus' footsteps: Love Dad above everything & Mankind more than myself: The Cross, on Which I shall be crucified & resurrect for Eternal Life.

Thank you for posting this, one of the most beautiful hymns. Can you combine both parts into one video and upload? Sorry for asking this, but thanks.
