as sad as this is, if i knew i was going to be dead in a few years i wouldn't even WANT to spend it in a damn school. i'd be out bungee jumping, sky diving, mountain climbing, hiking, camping, touring the world, and living it up with the time i had left. what's the point in staying in school when you don't even have a good chance of graduating?

IT was not from Dr's negligence. They were on the front line fighting from the moment it came into light. It's not as easy as you think to design a way to test for a disease that had not been isolated or even identified. Do any of you know how to create a test for an antigen when you don't know if you are dealing with a parasite/virus/bacteria? Do you think any of this doctors treated him unfairly???

MsD. Why don't you go back and time and work as a virologist/immunologist. Then maybe you will understand how difficult it would be to create a test for a disease that has not been identified or isolated. THEN determine how to make the test efficient/affordable/accurate enough to be used on a large scale.

this is my first time seeing this movie. after i watched it, i have to say, this is a painful movie to watch. so sad to see a young handsome looking guy, would end up with AIDS. seeing what he had to go through. fighting for his life. battling to go back to school. have the whole community turn against you. finding out your house has been robbed. seeing that got me really angry. what a nightmare what he went through. but at least he got his revenge when he was able to go back to school. RIP Ryan

According to Wilkipedia, Michael Jackson gave him a mustang for his 16th birthday. And Elton john helped pay for the funeral. It was good to see a lot of ppl supporting them through it. It was one of the first highly publicized cases of AIDS.

Those stories are false. Besides if Micheal Jackson molested Ryan White he would risk havin AIDS as well, since AIDS is spread through sexual contact. Micheal Jackson did nothing to those other boys, nor did he do anything to Ryan. I admit he did have a thing for sick teenaged boys, but it was not sexual. Why he acted like a 13 year old himself. He did all these things out of kindness and those boys and their parents just treated him like trash by making false accusations.

While the school banned Ryan from attending, on the ignorant grounds that the other students could be infected, his mother thought for a while that even though the students couldn't catch AIDS from Ryan, Ryan could still catch communicable diseases from them which his body wouldn't be able to fight off, even a common cold can kill.
