  • the republicans know if they can get rid of the unions, the teachers association, aclu that they can roll the clock back on civil rights.and the republicans own the law enforcement associations. think about it!

  • A powerful group of conservative Republican attempted the violent overthrow of American democracy in 1932. It was composed of wealthy corporations such as DuPont, Remington, Goodyear and JP Morgan tried to finance a private army to be led by Marine General Smedley Butler to march on Washington, murder the sitting president, disband Congress and suspend the Constitution. Butler exposed the plot and stopped it cold.

  • CAN THE ENEMY MOVE THE BALL DOWN THE FIELD?

    NO.

    WE HAVE THEM.

  • @diogeneslaertius666 CAN THE ENEMY RETREAT?

    NOWHERE TO RUN TO...

A CONFLICT TEN THOUSAND YEARS IN THE MAKING DAWNS

BETWEEN THE OPPRESSED AND THE OPPRESSORS OF HUMANITY

we will not be goaded into a false revolution this time.

we will create a culture that will last a thousand years this time.

  • be vigilant, americans!

  • You guys know that Third Parties have been saying this shit forever right?

  • Can't be bothered to watch this. I fail to see how hate speech about "patriarchy" and "male power" and so on can be relevant towards real life in general, let alone freedom? If she didn't spew her hateful anti-man BS in this event that doesn't alter her fembot roots and mentality. Unlike old eras of media today we get to talk back and my message to this fembot is "Go f*ck yourself". Once a feminist always a fembot. They say what they need to say for power; this bitch also endorsed Obama BTW

  • Young guy in the middle is a cop. he was looking the other way for 90% of the speech. No interest in what was happening on stage. plus, he just looks like a dirty cop, lol

  • naomi wolf / ron paul two sides of the same.

  • DAmn I love Naomi Wolf!!!! RON PAUL 2012!!!

  • @Marxistcommie41 Ron Paul is all for the Constitution of the United States that was written by the Founding Fathers who created it to protect the people from a government if it got too power hungry. Anyone that can listen to Ron Paul and not understand and know that he is speaking truth, is more lost than Jimmy Hoffa.

  • Its time to shut down the NWO

  • @hjhemin1 Its time to shut down the entire government. Fuck the bilderberg group you will not succeed. We the people will revolt and you cant stop us.

  • I love Naomi Wolf. She get's right down to business when she speaks and always backs up what she says. I also like her speaking style. She's cool.

  • she did good, I think she must be something of a progressive/libertarian, I like her speeches.

  • Keynsianism leads to Corporatism, Corporatism leads to Fascism.

  • holy hell Ron Paul supporters are paranoid

  • she is good looking and a lot smarter than Sara

  • @hhhaller I totally agree.

  • Ok here's the deal, i watched her documentary. I believe she is right about our Gov trying to close our society. I don't believe they will succeed if America push's back. I honestly believe she is trying to warn everybody & has put herself in danger to do it. There could be no other excuse for what our Gov is doing to the ppl of the USA! Not everybody is going to agree with every issue. But if we agree they are corrupt, or somthing smells rotton in denmark then stick with the majority rule.

  • They want to (and are doing so) push us to the point where we are ready to take up arms. Don't do it. There are other ways - more methodical, intelligent, and effective. Get involved with local govt., investigate, surveil (like they do to us without consent), gain evidence, and spread the word.

    Czars? Patriot Act? Really? Really?

  • @kaylasdaddy55

Im sure Obama like Bush has all the people he needs in his cabinet to push there agenda, so how can a couple of congress men or senators the people get through change the control they have at the top? In the end the only way I see to rid them from this country is war. They control the dem and rep. Presidents. A Ross Perot will never happen again as they will not allow others into the final debates on t.v. so you have only two choices. Agenda or Agenda.

  • wolfe is a rhodes scholar who's married to a former clinton (also a rhodes scholar) speechwriter. she's informed enough and connected enough to be co intel pro. get over it. ron paul is a shill too. get over it.

  • Whatever her personal beliefs are, she says the Truth---and many things have happened just as she predicted. #1 Blackwater, now named XE [a play on the word-EX-Blackwater], security forces coming to America. Wake up, everybody, they are in your backyard. And ready to use force. She predicted the bank sell-out, too. Things in our country are very much like pre-WWII Germany---Neighborhood Watch Groups used as secret surveillance in conjunction with the Federal C.O.P.S. Program? Yes

  • Naomi Wolfe, smartest cookie in punditry, at a Ron Paul rally! The far-Left and far-Right have finally met in Faschism, and we have to join the Liberal and the Conservative to love in freedom. She never makes a logical fallacy. Keep us rockin' in the free world!

  • @greatbookie

'She never makes a logical fallacy'

    are you serious

  • @TENNSUMITSUMA She was a Rhoades Scholar at Oxford -- quite a bright woman.

  • @greatbookie

so? being one of those means nothing. and it certainly doesnt stop her from making fallacies. i wonder how many sexual harassment and false rape charges she threatened to get it.

as one guy (forgot his name) said. 'there no shortages of ignoramuses in the world. many of them teach at harvard

  • Naomi lost all credibility in her book when she endorsed Obama. Its not like fascism is going to end because of one leader. The same fascist bills are still around. She is just another fake activist. See her endorse Obama here: /watch?v=MvGtDB6NpVY

  • Naomi Wolf shouldn't side with one political party, I agree. But her book "The End of America" I think is prescient and smart. I think she's qualified to be a delegate to the Second Constitutional Convention but she needs to contact me. It will meet beginning July 4th 2009 at Independence Hall in Philadelphia.

  • @cclodfe

What the hell? Almost everybody voted that commie wanna be in office.

So what the hell is your point? She's not on his side now! Neither is all the other ppl who voted his azz in the WH!

Give it a break dude! AMERICA screwed up! Now lets fix the problem okay? He is a Radical Progressive! He lied through his campain, he is a LIAR! And they all are going to go to Prison for TREASON!

  • First, Obama's policies are not communist. They are fascist with a mix of socialism thrown in for good measure. Second, Naomi is a self described progressive herself. Naomi's solution to our problem would be to socialize all means of production. Naomi just panders to crowds like Michael Moore. Democracy is nothing more than mob rule. There is no politician/govt that will solve our current problems. Until you realize this we are doomed to repeat the same mistakes. Voluntaryism FTW!

  • I have no idea why Naomi would even choose to join this rally. She is against everything it stands for. Progressives always call for new govt that is of,by, and for the people. They never question if such a govt is even possible. When their supposed poster child (Obama) fails, they are quick to point out his flaws. Yet they never question if thier idealology is flawed. Also, progressives are for economic interventionism and central economic planning=FAIL.

  • Just overthrow the government and get it overwith. That's what all of this is leading to anyway. If not then your words are falling on either deaf ears, or people capable of no action.

  • @GaryVonGary Exactly what they want us to do - attempt a coup - so then they have a public excuse to militarize the whole country, martial law, baby. And she's right; they're doing it gradually, sneaky, and they literally believe the public is too stupid or too scared to do anything about it. Are they right, though? There are no party lines anymore. The agenda is fascism, no matter how they candy coat it. "Those who trade freedom for security have neither." Benjamin Franklin (I think)

  • I think they are right, the public is either too stupid to be informed or too helplessly informed to take action. So it's like a damned if we do/don't scenario. Getting involved will only make us more vulnerable to get bribed. How does secession sound?

  • yeah she is pretty but i get bad vibes about her for some reason idk

  • I'm worried about Wolf. I'm suspicious of her intentions. She talks about 'fragility of democracy' and saving democracy in her book. Fuck man, that freaks me out a little. Snake in the grass? We don't want democracy, we want our republic!!!

  • I can see no reason why Naomi wolf shouldn't become President of America.

She's intelligent, articulate, and has integrity, which matches the founding fathers.

This lady, should be the first Female President, and a worthy President too.

  • a Rhodes scholar who is married to a former Clinton speech writer...sounds like change i can't believe in

  • I'm sorry this woman is disingenuous.

She was married to Clinton's speechwriter David Shipley of the NY Times, the Rockefeller instrument.

She was active in Clinton's campaign. Clinton admitted that there were unethical experiments conducted. Some say he is a victim of mind control himself.

She does not put the blame for what has happened where it belongs - on Capitalism.

Obama is a member of the CFR.

I've seen a photo of him making the horned hand sign.

    Can we get real?

    D2

  • You are loopy

  • You're right about your comment of Naomi Wolf, very smart. It's funny... I wonder what would happen if I went in front of the White House and said that shit. She probably getting funded to attract all the "rebels" so they know where they all are, sitting ducks.

  • interesting. thanks for the info. where did you get it?

  • Wikipedia entry: Naomi Wolf

"Wolf was married to the former Clinton speechwriter David Shipley, with whom she has two children. Her daughter Rosa was born in 1995 and her son Joseph was born in 2000.[4]"

  • "Wolf was involved in Bill Clinton's 1996 re-election bid, brainstorming with the president's team about ways to reach "soccer moms" and other female voters.[46]

During Al Gore's unsuccessful bid for the presidency in the 2000 election, Wolf was hired as a consultant to target female voters, reprising her role in the Clinton campaign. Wolf's ideas and participation in the Gore campaign generated considerable media coverage and criticism." ibid.

  • Search: Michelle Obama + CFR and Barak Obama + CFR.

  • I don't know if all of that is a bad thing.... she reached out to public with solid facts and American Ideological beliefs. This is what a patriot of America looks like.

  • She does not put the blame for what has happened where it belongs - on Capitalism

how is our current political dystopia capitalisms fault??? capitalism prizes property rights (therefore human rights) and liberty.

which of those ideals are to blame?

  • @FUKURGOVT When human beings who want stuff (even altruistic stuff for others) no longer induce force as opposed to negotiating with others for what they want, then you will be rid of corruption, theft, blackmail, slavery, etc.

The system that best fosters maximum free individual choice and negotiation will provide the best atmosphere for this.

The more rules in play the more people will be inclined to use force to break them.

Don't blame a human trait on an "ism".

  • @FUKURGOVT

Umm... human rights and property rights are TWO DIFFERENT THINGS.

  • @IngeniousEpithet uhh.. no they are not. human rights are property rights over one's own body, mind and efforts. property is not about land, its about easily recognizable and agreeable boundaries. without these boundaries, we would be doomed to remain in eternal conflict over who owns what. with these boundaries, we can say "me is mine and you is yours" and live in peace.

  • @mouser98k

You're speaking in wistful nonsense. PROPERTY is different from one's body/mind/efforts. Property is PHYSICAL land or objects (albeit illusions) which 'belong' to a person, group, and/or organization. Though... I suppose slavery is a form of owning other people, but guess what! Slavery made its appearance with the DAWN of nation-states and PROPERTY RIGHTS. Property is simply putting things under lock-&-key and deciding who controls it. Tribal people for instance, don't live that way.

  • All of the people holding up the Constitution as the standard of liberty are either willfulling ignoring or hopelessly blind to the fact that the Constitution and Bill of Rights are Masonic craft.

Without economic equality all the high falutin' claims of political equality aren't worth the parchment they're written on.

The Masons who crafted those documents knew that full well.

The Constitution and Bill of Rights did not prevent the country from being taken over by Corporate Fascism.

    D2

  • Ron Paul is THIS NAomi Wolf is THAT-you're concerned with the wrong things there buddy, we're not separate because of stupid petty differences, we're in a FUCKING SITUATION HERE! You MUST be a corporate drone, someone who is paid to swarm around the Youtubes and harass people.

  • Q 21/f/single hiiiii boys 7

  • funny! chec

  • very interesting, it's like everything she says is coming true. We're getting close to an election, a financial crisis arise, declaring martial law... i bet the best is yet to come. WAKE UP AMERICA!!!!

  • campaign for liberty

  • you have a very vaid point. What is your background? Are you American Indian? The problem seems to be one of civilzation not necessarily a people. Your thoughts?

  • Awesome!!!!! Everyone knew the answers ;]

  • Hmm I didnt think that socialist nit wit would speak at a rally for the good Dr.Paul.

  • how do you know she's not coming around to libertarianism?

  • What the hell is a gatekeeper?. She's got the constitution in common with Ron Paul, that doesn't mean she has to endorse all his economic polices. A freedom movement can consist of more than some of the most outrageous conspiracy theories.

  • In human communication a gatekeeper is somebody through which ideas and information are filtered for publication. And no she doesnt have the constitution (Bill of Rights) in common with Ron Paul or else she would be advocating small government and civil liberties instead she proposes socialism and "civil rights". Outrageous conspiracy theories? What does Naomi Wolf having nothing in common with Ron Paul have to do with an "outrageous conspiracy theory"?

  • Naomi Wolf does not advocate socialism, what are you talking about!? Of course she advocates civil rights, whatever "civil rights" are. By "outrageous conspiracy theories" pterdayrl means, I believe, is that a freedom movement in America is a necessarcy counterforce to the fascism we're seeing arise here without having to address the various conspiracy theories that are out there( Illuminati, New World Order etc.) And, also, Naomi Wolf has a LOT in common with Ron Paul.where are you coming from?

  • A lot in common with Ron Paul?? Are you insane? Thats why she openly supports Obama right? She is a socialist and has hardly anything in common with the good Dr.Paul. Ron Paul will tell you that himself if you asked him. How much do you know about him? Ron Paul is an ole John Birch Society paleo-conservative while Naomi Wolf is another elitest ultra-liberal feminist Rhodes Scholar jew. Get your facts straight man. They are not fighting the same fight.

  • Am I insane? Jesus Christ you prick, first off: no. Second: I call adhering to the constitution in common with RP, I consider fighting for national sovereignty and civil rights and freedom and a government by the people for the people IN COMMON I think their two views on our current administration have a few parallels (sarcasm) Come man, you're not making any sense? A socialist, do you know what socialism IS?

  • @peterdayrl :3 She's probably more of a constitutionalist than he is since he wants to repel the 14'th amendment rewrite Article 1 Section 8 let states interpret the First Amendment for themselves and redefine the power of congress outlined in the Constitution.

But yeah you're right. What I don't get is how third parties on the left have been saying this for decades and been ignored, then Ron Paul on the far right just repeats what they said and gets a huge cult following. How does that work.

  • It's a pitiful shame we can't stop some idiots showing their lack of the English language by using smutty language on a hat or a vulgar sign....we do not wish to commit an abomination on the government.... we only wish to straighten out government and make it the government of the people, for the people by the people; not a few special interest

groups. There is no more r oom for filthy four letter words. This is a very poor example for the rEVOLution!

  • I understand what you are saying. You have to understand that the system we live in is very volatile and when you begin to open your eyes to it sometimes the first reaction is not pleasant and at times can be vulgar

  • For any of you out there that still think that the Patriot Act is not being abused, here is link that shows that it is being used against American citizens and innocent people for political retaliation:

    watch?v=bWMLLf37ebc

  • Naomi Wolf hottie with a brain ow!

  • You are probably one of the bad guys loser!

  • I'm disappointed in all of you. Only 10,000 people marched for the Revolution IN AMERICA.

Obama had 200,000 (that's right) people go to his rally in GERMANY last week.

That's embarrassing, America. Get your damn act together or you're gonna lose everything.

  • 10K Ron Paul lunatics in America and 200K Obama German lunatics.

  • OBAMA 08!

  • I'm all for Ron Paul and the R3volution. I know 9/11 was an inside job, like Oklahoma City bombing and many many other false flag events. I know that the Federal Reserve System is a private corporation that needs to be dismantled and I know we need to wake people up! BUT I gotta tell you the truth, Naomi Wolf is one god damn sexy activist! Everything about her is sexy: her voice, her lips, her eyes, her hair. She is so hot! DAMN!

  • Tuzmor...

You forgot to mention the sexiest part of Naomi Wolf; her BRAIN!

I am amazed by the intelligence and courage of this woman. You Americans should all be proud of her.

  • WAKE UP PEOPLE SHE IS SPEAKING THE TRUTH

It IS TIME FOR THE PEOPLE TO RISE UP WE ARE NOT AFRAID.

QUOTE ME BITCHES AND I MEAN U ELITE!

  • It is the SCOTUS that ruled in Hamdi that Hamdi habeas (military detainee habeas) was sufficient procedurally to satisfy the habeas requirement for US citizens stupid enough to appear as illegal enemy combatants on a foreign battlefield.

The Bush Adminstration instead said that they would not oppose any US citizen petitioning the civilian courts fo determining their detainee status.

Naomi is delusional and is spewing vile disinformation.

  • Anyone who knows the executive/legislative/adjudicative history of the Global War on Terror knows that the Bush Admin. declared, that any American stupid enough to appear on a foreign battlefield and commit treason by militarially engaging the US military, there would be no objection to their civilian habeas petition.

So US citizens, stupid enough to appear as an illegal enemy combatant on a foreign battlefield against the US military and be captured, always had habeas rights.

  • the world needs protection against CIA terror

  • Naomi Wolf is telling it how it has become. If you can not see what direction our nation is heading then you should pay closer attention.

  • "He that would make his own liberty secure must gaurd even his enemy from oppression"

    - Thomas Paine

Especially when disregarding our own laws inside our border that were set up on the basis of innocent until proven guilty not the other way around. Goodbye Habeas Corpus is that really what you want? HR1959 labels all political activists terrorist. Loosely worded by a political attorney general. Say goodbye to America as we love it. This is a war on freedom and liberty. Terrorism is a tactic.

  • 'rickity Injustice' is clueless about enemy combatant law.

I pointed it out but there are still lunatics who choose to remain ignorant.

'rickity Injustice' has chosen to take the side of the Islamonazis and wage war on America.

As i pointed out, habeas corpus for American citizens has always been there.

It's paranoia and hysteria mongers like Naomi Wolf that take the military's system for dealing with alien illegal enemy combatants and conjure up anti-american smears to stir up lunatics.

  • S1959 is the 800 pound gorilla waiting to pounce on the American people and the US Constitution. Here are some excerpts from the latest PDF being distributed in wide circulation by USA180 that illustrates what COULD happen if this bill passes the Senate:

'...ideologically based violence' means the use, planned use, or threatened use of force or violence by a group or individual to promote the group or individual's political, religious, or social beliefs...

  • Note that this means the "planned use of force to promote a political or social belief" would be considered an act of terrorism. This all hinges on the definition of "force", of course. Based on the loose use of logic in Washington these days, and the slippery interpretation of the meaning of words, "force" could mean:

  • • A grassroots campaign to barrage Congress with faxes

    • A non-violent street protest

    • A letter-writing campaign that deluges the Senate with too much mail

    • A sit-in protest that blocks access to a business or organization

    • A grassroots e-mail campaign that overloads the e-mail servers of any government department or agency

  • You get the idea. "Force" could be defined as practically anything. And since the "planned use of force" would be considered a criminal act of terrorism, anyone who simply thinks about a grassroots action campaign would be engaged in terrorist acts.

If you stopped someone on the street and handed them a Bible, for example, this could be considered an act of terrorism ("...use of force to promote the individual's religious beliefs...")

  • funny to note that it is illegal to give someone a bible in israel... people are arrested for it. Don't get me wrong... i don't thump a bible... I just think that it is insane. Looks like we could be headed for it in this country. BTW... martial law equalls... they come in and take all our guns... looks like it is coming... dissenters will be arrested and taken to FEMA camps

  • Averageworkinggal, It seems that the laws that were to fight terrorism, are being used on dissenters. Naomi Wolf, peace activists, senior members of Greenpeace, ACLU staffers, some democrats in Congress, etc. are on a watch list which has caused them to be detained at the Airport, sometimes interrogated, sometimes blocked at the border.

    watch?v=K-FIEd_CekM

    watch?v=renldNYox78

The Justice dept. says 400,000 names are on the terrorist watch list. (20,000 are U.S. citizens or legal residents)

  • Ron Paul can still be president

    google campaign for liberty

    and go to dvds4delegates

  • Naomi's good on these signs of emerging tyranny.

But if she's going to cite the Founding Fathers she needs to be consistent. She's going to have to get real on the 2nd Amendment and defend it too.

The Founding Fathers were very clear in their statements regarding the citizens' right to bear and own arms. It wasn't about hunting. They meant for the citizens to use their arms to defend themselves, their families, and their freedoms against the government the day it inevitably went bad.

  • While I am all for liberty and recognize that the government is trampling our liberties, Klein abuses hyperbole and poor argumentation to get her point across about 'fascism'. We need people who make real arguments to fight the loss of our liberties, blowing it out of proportion does nothing but weaken your stance.

  • We are a Constitutional Republic, and Naomi knows that. But we no longer have even a Constitutional Republic, we have lost it. Unless you Prozac sucking windbags get off your butts and demand accountability and real CHANGE from your government (sorry, Obama is not change, he is more of the same), we are quickly approaching an authoritarian oligarchy. You can call it whatever you want, labels mean nothing.

  • Naomi needs to understand we are a Republic not a democracy.

  • Guns weren't for hunting they were to resist tyranny.

  • Americans are already dying. Wake your neighbors and family and friends.

  • fear the FEMA trains of death!!!

  • I wonder how many of those people in this video think Jews did 9/11.

  • Joe, This movement is about the constitution and trying to roll back the reduction in our rights that has occurred, particurlary with the current President and Congress. Can't you see the significance of a President having the right to declare anyone an enemy combattent and detain them indefinately. Isn't it obvious that the terror threat is being used to reduce rights and to increase the power of the government? Doesn't it worry you that your government is trying to defend or redefine torture?

  • They all uphold and defend the Constitution of the US

  • Dr Paul for Pres of The Republic of Texas!!!

Vote your States free!!!!! Wake up!!!!

    States Rights!!!!! WE THE PEOPLE!!!!

  • 4 words

    google campaign for liberty

    This is a Revolution!

The Victory Can Arrive Within Weeks!

  • Naomi Wolf's definition of freedom encompasses forcefully grabbing a huge portion of every person's earnings and giving it to the government. She does not stand for freedom.

  • She's on the path to waking up. Unfortunately, it's probably going to take a few years more, before she finally understands that Obama is just as bad as McCain.

  • this is just the beginning

    google campaign for liberty

  • Many of these folks donated thousands to pauls campaigns..many donated to operation St Paul. many donated to the NH recount..many donated to pauls new Campaign for Lunacy..many donated to the granny warriors..Now they are spending money for plane tickets to DC plus food and lodging..As crazy as Bush is he must be right about the economy not being as bad as it appears

  • It only takes $1 from one million supporters to create a million bucks. He has at LEAST that. Given that Ron Pauls largest financial supporters are our own troops thats an easy do.

  • Not dollar wise

  • Dollar to dollar $1 given by one million people = one million dollars in sum dollars given. What do you mean that isnt dollar wise?

Better yet on Cspan yesterday they are getting 50 billion dollars on aids research. I thought they did enough damage creating it.

Have you seen "Merck brings HIV/AIDS to America" and watch the confession of that?

Or Bayer vaccines contaminated with Aids yet?

Then complain about a rally for your rights while they put diseases in you?

    amazing really

  • we just experienced the second largest banking collapse since Hoover.

  • doesn't matter how big it is, it's one bank..and it should have collapsed, it gave mortgages without requiring proof of income..recessions are good for the country because they weed the garbage companies out of our economy and make it stronger

  • So once again, the administration looking the other way producing another calamity is good for us as a country? What parallel universe does this seem logical?

  • that's not the administration's responsibility, it's individuals responsibility

  • Her support of Obama aside *groans* her points are well taken.

  • That guy with the sign is likely a Provaucateur.

The mindset they present is wrecklessly agressive, attempting to induce people to agression.

Once a dunce is found, they get paid for their part in the prosecution.

  • Write in ROn Paul!

  • Obama supporters

your guy votes for FISA and keep every option on the table in regards to Iran...he does not even want to bring the troops from Iraq NOW!

join us in Campaign for Liberty

    google it

    peace

  • Restore confidence in America!

Sen. Ron Paul, a possible running mate?

    Yes We Can!

  • In Federalist Paper No. 10, James Madison wrote, 'Measures are too often decided, not according to the rules of justice and the rights of the minor party, but by the superior force of an interested and overbearing majority.' That's another way of saying that one of the primary dangers of majority rule is that it confers an aura of legitimacy and respectability on acts that would otherwise be deemed tyrannical. Liberty and democracy are not synonymous and could actually be opposites."

  • I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

  • We are in trouble alright, because "We the People" are asleep at the switch. Republicans, Democrats: all the same, all working to trample the Constitution and take our freedom. The FISA Act has trampled the 4th Amendment, the RealID Act will result in the tagging and tracking of every citizen, NAIS will tag and track every single animal. The 2nd Amendment has been gutted and the 1st Amendment compromised. It's time stand up and be counted, time to take America back!

  • this is just the beginning

    google campaing for liberty

  • Republican Ron Paul!!!!

  • Ventura/Paul 2012

Liberals want to be your Mommy.

Conservatives want to be your Daddy.

Libertarians want to treat you like an adult.

  • outside of fisa and wiretapping i don't consider "rights" as much of an issue as rp fanatics think. there's less there than meets the eye. on a day to day basis, i dare anyone to show that their lives have been affected in any way or their "rights" infringed. i majored in philosophy, attended a top law school, and studied jurisprudence (dworkin, rawls, etc). believe me, i know more about the concept of rights than 99.9% of the population. rp is much ado about nothing.

  • The problem is that they have tapped the trunk lines of the US communications system that includes the web, phone calls, emails, & IMs. With "Sneak & Peek", you do not have the right to know if you are under surveillance. And with secret trials, the general public doesn't know the full extent of what is happening. (Political Prisoners)

I have worked on networking systems, (Routers, mpeg streams, cable modems, etc). believe me, I know more about the network than 99.9% of the population.

  • xp, my sarcasm was meant for lawgrad--you stood up between us while I was writing. But peace to both of you. None of us is the jerk we seem to be in internet comments.

  • The only way you have any privacy is if you use adequate encryption. Period.

  • I worked in a metal plating factory, raised children, once shook Springsteen's hand. Went to a middling law school. So shucks, what do I know? But if I may approach the throne, I humbly submit that my rights involve more than my day to day experience. Several Germans were relatively comfortable and politically satisfied until the bombs started falling. When a guy gets waterboarded on my dime, my rights are in trouble. Ron Paul? No thanks. But Wolf? Yup.

  • All good. Better if people speak their minds freely. Democracy is messy, but the results are worth it.

  • but she thinks our country is a Democracy, what a fucking idiot. We are a Republic!

  • You're only partially correct. The Fed is a Republic, but the states are all Democracies. And since the States are supposed to controll the actions of the Republic through Democratic representation, the Fed is ultimately under the control of the people... hence, a Democracy defacto.

  • partially correct? You are scary stupid. We are a REPUBLIC, ruled by the US Constitution which limits our government. We vote but not directly as in majority rule. Everything is done at convention by delegates it's not a democracy. Never was never will be. Please look it up you are a bad American for spreading lies and propaganda. Please I implore you get it right and stop spreading lies.

  • The LIES came from WIKIPEDIA.......

  • well there you go, Wiki isn't a reputable source of information, I can't believe you actually sited it as your source. Anyone can change Wiki information, you me anyone. Come on...

  • So who's right some random user on YT, or the dictionary?

  • OFFLINE CONVERSATION & UNDERSTANDING:

It turns out the words have merged with common usage over the last 150 years or so. (You can see the start of this.)

    The 1828 Dictionary:

    1. A commonwealth; a state in which the exercise of the sovereign power is lodged in representatives elected by the people. In modern usage, it differs from a democracy or democratic state, in which the people exercise the powers of sovereignty in person. Yet the democracies of Greece are often called republics.

  • The Latin translation is Mob Rule.

    LEARN THE DIFFERENCE!!!!

"Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos." -- Chief Justice John Marshall

  • Funny calling someone an idiot while getting it wrong!

A republic is a form of democracy. Look it up.

  • what? you look it up, no wonder we are in so much trouble as a nation. Republic is not a Democracy. Never was never will be. Rule of Law, Constitution, not majority rule. God are we in trouble!

  • OK:

Republican democracy is a republic which has democratic forms of government. One of the key principals is free and open debate prior to casting a vote. A republic in the modern understanding is a nation or state where the people are sovereign.

  • Democracy is a system of government by which political sovereignty is retained by the people and exercised directly by citizens. In modern times it has also been used to refer to a constitutional republic where the people have a voice through their elected representatives.

  • WRONG! You are a product of propaganda, we are not a Democracy! Democracy is a stepping stone to Dictatorship. We are Republic, rule of law checks and balances nothing like Democracy. We have a voice because we have Democratic policies but we are not a Democracy. Please I implore you to look it up and stop giving out misinformation!

  • Dude, you really need to study Democracy of the States in order to fully understand the concept of how this Republic works. Each State in this union is ruled through pure Democracy - period. Every state, county and city government is under the control of mob rule, as they were designed to be.

Take a course in civics, and you'll understand.

  • Dude, you are dead wrong, you don't even know what you don't know. Pure Democracy? The delegates vote on the president not us. What we do means nothing. It's all decided at convention. Can one human being be so stupid? Keep on believing the propaganda, we'll trample over your dead, lifeless, traitor body on the way to the revolution.

  • You're missing the point. Delegates don't vote for your representatives, WE DO. Who do you think really holds the power in DC?

You're correct when it comes to presidential elections... but if you understood the constitution, you would know that the Executive Branch is powerless when the Legislative Branch does it's job (which isn't happening at the moment).

This is more about keeping the powers of the States than it is about which of the two idiots we're going to put in the White House.

  • Sorry for calling you "dude" BTW.

You and I are on the same side, I'm just trying to help you understand the difference between the way our STATE and FEDERAL systems work. The people will always hold the power at a state level, so long as there is a Constitution that guarantees it. When that ceases to be the case, EVERY state has the right to succeed from the union. Currently, there are 25 states that have entertained just such an option. Think it can't happen? Think again.

  • Well put. You are absolutely correct.

  • ron paul's economic message would disasterous for america right now--it's quixotic to say the least. socially, libertarians aren't much different than your standard democrat/liberal, a position i agree with. i see nothing of interest in what rp says.

  • so is retaining your rights also 'nothing of interest'?

  • google campaign for liberty

  • any American has the right ....that's what the founders intended. The Constitution is under attack. She is defending the Constitution, which is what we did when we took our oath of enlistment.

  • ..... What the hell is she doing there. She's not even close to a libertarian.

  • I love you Ron Paul!
