this is one of his best...RIP.....i played this on armed forces radio while serving my country in Japan back in the late 60s. very good choice lincoln cadillac....ty
@mluera100 I know that Charlie's brother Ira was known to be a hell raiser but I hope that he is in heaven with his brother Charlie. I know that they are.
This came from Charlie's 1969 Capitol Album "The Kind of Man I Am". If anyone can post "The Kind of Man I Am", please let me know. I heard it on the LP Discography site when they featured Charlie Louvin.
I LOVE this song. Although I like this version, my favorite is the Roger Miller. Great video too! It's more about the time period than whether the audio and visual are connected by subject matter. very nice!
I love what I call Crying and Dying country songs, and this is one of my old time favorites. Still have the album it is on. Written by the great Dallas Frazier.
thanks for the song...was my mom's favorite song.....i miss her alot but least i have the memories that we had and the ones that old songs bring back to memory..
The music of Charlie and Ira Louvin is timeless

I would say that is Millie Kirkham who sang with the Jordanaires singing that high part. She is still alive and well today.

This song could've been huge on the charts cause by that time Charlie hadn't charted a record in about two years. This one is a true gem.

Thanks for posting this. I remember hearing it as a child but all these years I was wrong about the singer. I thought it was Charlie Pride.

Great song!! Although I'm just hearing this one for the first time, when it's sung by Charlie Louvin, you can automatically say that it's a good one!
