great song.... any farmer works more than 40hrs a week i know for a fact cause im a farmer and i work 40hrs in two days thats a 140hrs in a 7 day week
Too bad the unions chased all the steel mills out of Pittsburgh. Now there are none. But the big Ole Union tower is still there. And that in the Gov work force they higher you depending on the color of your skin, and not skill. YESTERDAYS AMERICA was the best. We can all thank the government for the demise of this country. Love the song.
i laugh when people say without the rich there would be no jobs for the middle and lower classes but without the working man to produce, goods, drive the 18 wheelers, work on farms growing crops and raising animals ect there would be no rich people need to open up their eyes and relize that the working man is VERY important
This song is me. I work hard 40 hours + a week at a custom cabinet shop. I make cabinets the best I can and give it my all. Too bad we cant have more production jobs like steel mills or make good solid American made vehicles. Tired of all the china crap. I buy USA whenever possible.
Keep buying foreign cars and other goods and see how many of the jobs mentioned in this song go away! Just ask a Chrysler assembly line worker - he'll tell you all about it!
this is an awsome song and i think we should have more american jobs. my grandpa fought in korea worked for the carieer making aircoditions and now they went over seas so sad. he also was fire fighter and crossing guard. god bless ya papa joe 1931-2000.
this song is awesome i dont give a shit about how much money it saves sending jobs over seas and putting so many americans out of work everything made in america is better i would rather pay an extra 20 dollars just to know that something i bought was made the right way in America God bless the USA
Thankyou for the time You put into making this hun and it is a very nice tribute to all the people who make everything happen.
I remember years ago thinking when this song came out that it was about time someone payed tribute to the unsung heroes that work their heart out everyday for practicaly nothin.
There are people in this country who work hard every day Not for fame or fortune do they strive But the fruits of their labor, are worth more than their pay And its time a few of them were recognized, Hello Detroit auto worker let us thank you for your time you work a 40 hr week for a livin just to send it on down the line...and so on you get the picture. At school I had an assembly and this song was all my solo...thereof I know the whole song but I felt nice and left room for other comments.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL my brother and sisters! I was a garbageman myself and we work to make civilized life possible. But I always take my hat of and bow humbly to our men and women in uiform! I was never asked to risk my life on the job, but they do it every day. THANKS AGAIN!
Agreed,I men I am not a huge country fan but Alabama was just soo good ,they went beyong the genre barrier and realy just reached every type of listener and I miss those good ole days too.
We still get good music even these days but those good bands from yesterday are just gone but thankfully We still have their music.

Just pay attention to what you buy, look for the label. A little more consciousness really does make a difference!
