  • Magnum P.I flipper discs?..What ws the release year *of the set ;p* , I have a dutch release with 6 single discs and I got it for , *are you ready for this?* ....€7,50!

    Talk about a fucking bargain!

  • @PunkRocker666Metal I keep hoping they'll do what they did with the Knight Rider and Miami Vice sets - put out a Complete Series set with all the flipper discs re-authored to single sided discs. But doesn't look like it's going to happen. :(

  • yes i also picked that wolverine set along with exo squad. it was just announced on marvel that they already realised the complete series to the us of a

  • @beastwarsman1

I have yet to hear anything about a FULL U.S.A. complete season set of Wolverine and the X-Men either on DVD or Blu-Ray.

  • @dvd6441 It was announced a few days ago, though is still in "rumor" status and hasn't been confirmed with a release date yet.

  • @beastwarsman1 I'll be keeping the Steelbook anyway for the coolness factor. PLUS getting it on Blu-ray because it's just that good. I was planning to get the U.S. version as well anyway for the extras. Still doesn't change the fact that we got to see how it all ended and have it all on DVD several months before you guys... ;)

  • I have never had that problem with "flipper discs". The only set I ever had trouble with was season 1 of Dragnet. And I did make dvd-r copies which played fine in my dvd player and solved the problem.

  • You can always rent them and make a copy of the rentals disc. That's a very cheap way to build up a diverse collection. There are plenty of websites where you can even print out the artwork. Of course, if you want to preserve quality, extras often have to be sacraficed. However, you can always burn the extras on a seperate disc. I find DVD shrink to be a pretty excellent program. Anyway, I think Isohunt is an even better way to get movies for absolutely free.

  • That x-men set is soo awesome!.i hav the dvd that has the 3-part pilot and rosie should check out the live-action scooby-doo films.those r awesome too!

  • when are u going to new evangelion 1.01: you are (not) along movie? you can get it at wal-mart for like $20

  • hey sean i know 2 shows you might like and yea there botjh from canda one is total drama i love this show and 6teen you might here of both shows b4 i love your vids 5 stars oh and jimmy too sholes too thats all oh and happy thankgiveing and happy hoddys and merry -x-mas XD

  • Did you see X-men:evolution? Did you like it?

  • I totally hear you on the buying vs. renting phenomenon. My friends all tend to think I waste my money that way. Great update though, I just bought untraceable on Halloween and it's pretty good, definitely better than others in the same class.

  • I loved The Day After Tomorrow. Mainly because of its special effects.

  • wooo Wolverine and The X-men! I have that boxset too, i'm a really hardcore fan too. And btw you should check Dexter out it's a great show! Kinda dark though

  • Fassbinder did a rather faithful novel to film adaptation. He adapted 'Berlin Alexanderplatz' by Alfred Doblin and the film is 15 hours long.

  • Didn't like Eragon, hadn't read the book though - seemed like half a movie, just didn't feel full, and left me not so much wanting more, as feeling short-changed.

Good points about Movie and Book length: all movies are short stories.

  • Sanctuary sounds a bit like Torchwood.

  • There was one episode of Torchwood that had a similar premise, but in that case it was protecting people not aliens.

  • I think Torchwood has rapidly gone down hill plot wise, the last series was one hell of a let down.

  • I thought the latest one had some good moments (and some rather stupid moments), but was a bit too mean-spirited. Series 1 was very hit and miss, Series 2 was the best by far imo.

  • I enjoyed series 1 but I think they tryed a bit too hard to get across the whole "Doctor Who that appeals to an older audience", I certainly enjoyed series 2 the most though.

  • no video game video this week

  • Working on it. Had to do a FAS vid too today.

  • no big deal just wonding see you on stckcam and by the way you rock

  • Im a buyer rather then renter

  • the hair style... lol

  • Great video as always

    Kick ass pick up's

    5 stars

  • Same director that did The Day after Tomorow did 2012!

  • Looks like you got some good swag this week. Got to tell you if you like Wolverine and the X-Men I would definitely reccomend Spectacular Spider-Man Season One by the creator of Gargoyles

  • been meaning to see if they're planing one. Woverine & The X - Men you bastered hehe! So gonna import that when I can.

  • Epic pickups buddy & clearly you don't have to explain it to me hehe I will say that I will be shocked if you end of liking Eragon. The film basterdizies the book yes but even as a stand alone movie I hate it. To me it try's to be Star Wars with dragons & plot wise. Thanks so much again for adding Turtles Forever to my package what I did see was just amazing! Turtle Prime as the black & white comics total nerdgasam hehe! A Blu Ray version will be fantasic to have at some point as well...

  • COOL!!

In the descrption on the side of the video it says cool DVD gits from mom not gifts, I thought you should know!!

  • I love The Day After Tommorrow, i dont get all the criticism it gets! but then again im a fan of Troma films so my taste isnt quite conventional haha.

  • I understand!!!!

  • Hi Shaun. Yes I agree single side good, double side bad! :D You would think the Americans would know that Canada uses the same Region Code and picture signal, honestily! Oh I need to correct you on one thing. Scooby-Doo and the Ghoul School was from 1988, not 98. It was part of Hanna-Barbera's Superstars 10 movie series in the late 80's. The other Scooby Doo movies in this series are the Reluctant Wearewolf and the Boo Brothers. The 98 films started with Zombie Island. Hope that helps.

  • that's awesome

hey man its bee a while

i think you should get the American release of ghost in the shell 2.0 in blu ray the dvd just release today on amazon : P

i just got it ive been waiting long time for this it looks so awesome! on Bravia tv man get it : P

  • I understand! Damn it, I understand you! :D

  • Been missing your videos so much that I even had a dream about you last night!

    ........ok, that was just weird

  • Same here. Where have you been?

  • predator

  • Nice selection of DvD good viewing zar.

  • im looking foward to the blu ray stuff

  • awesome update! My favorite dragon movie would have to be Dragonheart. Loved it ever since I was little. :) looking forward to that blu ray DVD update. ^_^

  • speaking of pleasing fans, caught the turtles FOREVER movie premiere this past Saturday? what a way to go out!

can't wait for the DVD of it. hope they add some extras to it, along with the full unedited movie.

  • YES! Damn, that was awesome. Pure fan service, for ALL fans, from start to finish. An absolute blast. That's a Day 1 DVD/Blu-ray purchase for me!

  • yeah, was blown away at how great it was. so many ways it could of turned out crap, but wow. can't imagine a better multi-verse-themed turtle movie, consisting of all things ninja turtles. just so perfect! i know, '87 ninja turtles original voice-cast would of been amazing, but easy to overlook there absence with just how amazing everything was.

    best ninja turtles movie ever!

  • tell mum we all think shes awesome !!! :)

  • Do you ever get scared from really scary movies? Like nightmare status

  • zaranyzerak, you have GOT to read the eragon books. they are great. the movie is horrible. you would love the books

  • I am so jelous and angry at ur wolverine set. grrr.

  • good update mate! your mom sounds awesome!

  • Dragonslayer is the only dragon film one needs, I agree!

  • I understand you.. I dont rent either.

I feel like if i do that I am like cheating on my DVD collection or something hahah!

  • As far as Dragon movies go, I'm gonna go with Reign of Fire as my favorite.

Pretty sure it's 'cause of Christian Bale and his awesomeness.

  • Still haven't seen that one, though I remember the trailers when it was coming out. Dragons vs Apache Helicopters? Hellz yeah! It just looked like a whole lotta awesome.

  • I hear you about Universal's Double-sided dvds. I purchased all of the Universal Monster Legacy Collections watched the Dracula set and of course the double-sided disc freezes and I can't even watch two of the movies. I'm so discouraged that I haven't even looked at the other collections yet T_T

  • I got lucky with the Legacy sets....mostly. All 6 of mine play fine, aside from one of the Wolfman featurettes which hiccups a bit (but still plays), and the last movie on The Mummy set which freezes and skips over the first 6 minutes...grrr... Annoying, since the movie is only 61 minutes to begin with and the first 6 basically link it up with the previous movie... Such a shame it took Universal sooooo bloody long to realize how shite those flipper discs are!

  • i have the reg 4 of untraceable . same disc content as far as i know..

  • Your description of UNTRACEABLE totally reminded me of the plot to VIDEODROME in a way.

  • That's a movie I really need to see again. Criterion's had a nice set of it out for a while.

Death to Videodrome! Long Live the New Flesh!

  • it cheaper to rent but i dont buy 2nd hand .. not anymore and for a while..

  • Yeah, I usually only buy used if it's in like new condition and/or in particular if it's something that's just bloody impossible to find new for a decent price.

  • i can remember being torn between seeing shaun of the dead or day after tommorow in the cinema , i chose shaun and thats was a good choice as iots clearly the better movie , but saw day after tommoz on dvd and YES the effects are freaking awesome but the story is mad stupid

  • You chose wisely. Love Shaun of the Dead!

  • Great dvd update!

  • eragon is a ripoff of star wars and lord of the rings .nothing happens in the day after tomorrow

  • Yeah, that's what I've heard about Day After Tomorrow. Everything goes apeshit...then just kinda sorts itself out naturally. So basically...everyone in it is useless...lol! Oh well, I got 'em for free, so I can't really complain! :D

  • The spectacular Spider-Man cartoon in my opinion is the best Spider-Man cartoon so far. It barely beats the 90s version. Barely.

  • I really need to pick up the first season of that one. I've been hearing almost as many good things about that as the Wolverine and the X-Men series.

  • hey sean dose the Wolverine x-men have comantarys with the actors and stuff. i have to get them in pieces cause i live in the usa lol. so far we have 3 volumes released the last episode were up to is battle lines. iam sure they will put it out in a whole set like you have. are ya gonna review it that would be cool later.

  • Alas, the set is barebones. I might do some kind of a review at some point, but honestly with the lack of extras I don't know there's much more I can say about it that I haven't already! :)

  • Yeah, I have the Dracula Legacy set from Universal and on one player, the spanish version freezes and skips several minutes, but on another player, it plays just fine. You don't happen to know if there's a Dracula set or individual dvds that have the same content as the Dracula Legacy set, do you ?

  • A lot of the extras are only available on the Legacy sets, ditto some of the movies. MOST of the movies have been available individually before, with a few exceptions (don't recall which ones offhand), but I know a lot of the extras were exclusive to those sets.

  • Eragon was good. A lot better than I expected it to be. Not as good as, say, Dragonheart or even Reign Of Fire, but still really fun.

  • Yeah when he mentioned good dragon movies I immediately thought of Dragonheart.

  • The story in Untraceable (the internet thing with murder) the series Millennium also had one episode about that, can´t remember if it was first or second season tough.

Glad to see your videos again and happy thanksgiving.

  • You lucky Canadian so and so!!

Like America, Wolverine and the X-Men is being released in volumes as opposed to season sets in the UK. Damn.

How is your classic 90's X-Men DVD collection coming along Sean? In the UK, the first four seasons have been released in volumes. As of yet, we have no frakkin clue as to when the fith season will be released.

  • What do you think of X-Men Origins Wolverine? Have you seen it or do you plan on seeing it?

  • Untraceable sounds kind of like an episode of Millennium they did in the third season, dunno if you remember it. Sanctuary is one I've been interested in but that only thing that wards me off that it's mostly done on green screen, that and Amanda Tappings English accent, though I hear the second season is really good.

  • I actually don't remember that because...I'm presently in the middle of watching Season 3 for the first time! :) I'll keep an eye out for that one. Enjoying Season 3 very much so far, seems less disjointed than Season 2. Oh, S2 had some great episodes, but overall lacked the focus and intensity of the first season imo. Amanda Tapping does British in that one, does she? Awesome. Can't be worse than Winona Rider and Keanu Reeves pretending to be Brits in Dracula...*shudder*

  • Great update. Untraceable was pretty good but not something I'd watch a lot, I've yet to see Eragon.

I think a video addressing the craziness of us movie collectors would be interesting.

  • HEY ZARNAYZERAK, it is about time you made some new videos. God if [Wolverine and the X-Men] is actually better than [X-Men: The Animated Series] then Marvel animation is really blossoming. Canadian imports are pretty easy to get from what I have heard. I saw the first two seasons of Spectacular Spider-Man and was completely floored by it. Would you like a full connected Marvel universe like the Bruce Timm DC shows did or just stand-alone shows?

  • Honestly, I'd rather they just stay separate. There's plenty of material in their own comic histories to draw upon without having to do crossovers. Plus I think the tone of both shows is quite different, might not work as well as it did with the 90's crossover episodes.

  • Man I used to watch Magnum PI back in the day in reruns. It was a great show, and I haven't seen it in years. I worry that when I see it again someday that I won't feel about like I used to. But oh well!

  • Gotta love Magnum. He was just so damn cool, and I love the humor of the characters too. Lots of "breaking the fourth wall" with Magnum giving little glances and winks to the viewer. Rockford Files is another fave of mine, also a super-cool character with lots of humor.

  • DVDs are so cheap at this point that it makes more since to buy than just to rent. $3.99 for a used disc, why not!

  • Quite true! That's almost the same as it would cost you to rent in some places anyway...but without having to worry about returning it the next day! And if it sucks, sell it for 5 bucks and you're good. :D

  • Speaking of book adaptations possibly being 12 hours long, a good example would be Watchmen. The motion comic was every single panel and speech bubble. It was like 6 hours long. Who the hell would want to sit in a theater for six hours?

  • Good example! And definitely the exception rather than the rule. Watchmen is one of the most THOROUGH adaptations I've ever seen. Really dying to pick up the Ultimate Edition (which includes the Motion Comic as an extra!) to see the whole thing in all its glory.

  • The Ultimate Watchmen set is indeed awesome. I still haven't been able to watch the actual movie because I don't have four hours to spare quite yet lol. I think the set is on blu ray from what I hear but you probably already knew that lol.

  • day after tomorrow, eragon, and untraceable are good, I also hate 2 sided discs but nice purchases and nice vid

  • Eragon was a godawful movie, but its notable for containing one of the worst John Malkovich performances that I have ever seen. Jeremy Irons is the only competent actor in the entire film who seems to be trying.

  • Zman's BACK!!!!

  • The guy who wrote "Eragon" was 18 when he published the 1st book. He's from right here in Montana & reportedly a (spoiled trust fund kid +) giant D-BAG -- according to my friends who had to deal w/ him during a book signing at their store. Folks felt the movie sucked, NOT because of minor changes from the book, but because it hardly bared ANY resemblance to the book. About the only thing the movie had in common with the book was some character names and dragons. Yay Hollywood!

  • Ouch...well if that's the case, then that's most definitely NOT how to adapt a book. "I know, let's change EVERYTHING and just alienate EVERYONE equally! YEAH!" Kinda like what X3 did for X-Men movies... Well, I haven't seen it yet, so we'll see if I like it just as a standalone movie.

  • no, he actually was 15 when he wrote it

  • Okay, so 15 when he wrote it, 18 when it was published. Damn, wish I had been that lucky... Dude's set for life, not even out of high school!

  • a great example of how an adaptation doesn't put everything from the book in and still makes a great movie is fear and loathing in las Vegas

  • YOU'RE BACK! I think I speak for every viewer by saying, WE MISSED YOU!!!
