I saw him in a rare interview once and he said that he has stayed away from the public eye mostly because he does not believe his personal contribution was all that great. Yuri Gagarin came back and no flag 'waved' on the moon, it was extended on a horizontal pole. All the lunar astronauts came back without 'a scratch' of corse, except Apollo 13 who were almost all killed.

Apollo went to the moon to photograph the moon's surface, they didn't photograph stars 'cos we can see those from here, so it would be a waste of time and money. Theres not a photo of Armstong because Aldrin refused to shoot him (prob upset about being 2nd in command!) The only photo that exists, is when Armstrong photographed Aldrin, and you can see him in the reflection of his visor.

I don't have a copy of the Baron Report, but I've read a synopsis of the report written by Baron as well as the testimony he gave at the hearings held before the House Subcommittee on NASA Oversight. He was reporting on morale and critical safety issues at NAA, not NASA, and many of the accusations were admitted by NAA to be valid; he was NOT a whistle-blower for a supposed NASA hoax. In fact, his testimony verifies that he was proud to work on the Apollo program.

The rest were not allowed to defend Baron and his claims. Isn't that fucking odd? This may come as a shock, but you normally don't perform autopsies on victims of train accidents. The cause of death on the autopsy report would look something like this: "He was hit by a 90-ton train. End of report." I don't have access to the police report, but apparently there were witnesses to this suicide. If you read his testimony before Congress, you know he was a man with problems (health and otherwise) plus he had just been called a liar by Holmburg in front of a Congressional hearing.

The fact that he was receiving threatening calls should have warranted an autopsy to make sure foul play wasn't the case. Baron wasn't stupid enough to risk fines/jail sentence for perjury before the Senate SC.

I agree that Holmburg probably changed his story which made Baron seem like a liar. If Holmburg did tell Baron what he did, it was heresay, and it flatly contradicts the Board of Review's examination of the Apollo I fire. Holmburg wanted to sound important by insinuating he was "in the know" when in reality he was merely an electronics tech spreading rumors. Regardless, and I need to point this out for the LAST time, this has NOTHING TO DO with a moon hoax.

Barons report, and finding does prove that communication up, down and across the board was hindered, fragmented, and compartmentalized. This goes along way to disprove propagandists constant whinings at how thousands upon thousands of people would have had to know about the hoax. And once you read the minutes from the teague committee you will see that there was more than sufficient time between the first smell of smoke and the actual fire that killed the Apollo 1 crew to have saved them.

One of the biggest thorns in NASA's side at the time was also one of the great heros of the Apollo program. Virgil Gus Grissom had just held an impromptu press conference criticizing the program. He actually placed a lemon on the CM. Then just a few moments before the fire which killed him, Chaffey and White, he had uttered the comment about how they were suppose to communicate back and forth from the moon, when they couldn't do so between two buildings. I suppose that is all coincidence.

Unless you are privy to the police report of the train accident, you are making a huge supposition. Baron certainly had personal problems which point more to suicide than murder; those problems are plainly evident in the brief testimony he gave at the Congressional hearing. If NASA -as they claim - seriously want to test future manned lunar base-safety in terms of meteor impact rate since Apollo, they would use the latest hi res' imaging camera currently on Mars Express (20cm lunar res), on their LRO in 2008. Instead they opt to use one that cannot see a meteor crater less than 10ft across.

Even Neil could ask that question - and get no answer from NASA.
