Amen bro, we trade Ludwick for a average pitcher and crap prospect. Now where stuck with a rookie that's projected to be a fourth outfielder in the lineup. Mozeliak=tard.
personally, I dont think Redbird fans should be asking why Luddy got traded...the better question should be, "why the hell did we pay Holliday all that damm money, when no other team in the game stepped up to "out bid" us for him??" Matt Holliday is a very good ballplayer...but in no shape or form does he deserve all the loot he got, with his defense being what it is. Ludwick was a casualty of Pujols's extension being prioritzed, period...and you couldve kept him too if Matt had signed for less
the trade was fucked up all around. the cards didn't really need pitching. we 2 good guys on the dl coming back later this season (hopefully), so why trade for 2 pitchers? we needed to trade for consistant hitters, NOT TRADING AWAY THEM! and the best pitcher we could get out of it was JAKE FUCKING WESTBROOK?!?! WTF?!
@uk4ever95 Ludwick is a streaky hitter and strikes out. the cards should have moved a guy like Brendan Ryan and a prospect or 2 for Marlins 2B Dan Uggla. Hes got 23 hrs and 65 rbis. Its said to see a fan favorite like ludwick go but your not giving jake westbrook any credit. There werent any better starting pitchers out there and the cards werent going to get roy oswalt. between 2004-06 westbrook had 44 wins. he missed a year because of tommy john but hes still good and was clevelands ace
I'm very disappointed. Ludwick was one of my favorite players on the Cardinals. Ludwick was a great hitter, especially in the Clutch. I'm very sad to see him go, and I wish him the very best. I am truly angry about the trade as well. Personally, I believe we could have done a little better than Westbrook. Unfortunately, things did not go the Cardinals way early on. Pegged with pitching injuries, and an injury to Ludwick himself was the cause of the trade. Good luck Ludwick. Best of wishes
Dude do u wanna know something. you make great videos and i am a big cards fan but we did this so that at the end of the year we can sign albert. We would not of been able to sign both Albert and Ludwick and we have Jon Jay who the cards and I believe is going to be a great athlete so we got rid of ludwick so that we can sign Albert at the end of the year.
@mvpfan101 Ludwick's salary wouldnt stop the Cardinals from signing Pujols. Hes going to make around 5 million next year. When Pujols signs a new contract he is going to be signing for around 25 Million a year. If anything, dont resign Penny who is making 7 million for being hurt. Next years rotation if they resign Westbrook.
Man i hear you !!!!!!!, I don't see why we get rid of players who are in my opinion true RedBirds !!!!! especially are pitching WTF ? I think Tony and hiw crew need to go !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Very good speaker and very well informed. I like the addition of Westbrook because he fits Duncans style great. But it is a sad day for Cardinals nation that LudStick is gone. Keep the videos coming. Go Cards
Not that I believe this should have been the case, but he'd be in some awkward 3-way CF/RF platoon with Rasmus and Jay for the rest of the year had he still been here. So it's not like he'd be getting enough ABs to really produce anyways. Besides, there's no way he'd be back for 2011 with the raise he'd be commanding and the logjam of OFers we have in the minors and on our bench between Jay, Allen Craig, Daryl Jones, etc. Sure, they sold low on him, but trading him wasn't the WORST idea.
@DwamnMan Over the long haul, I would go with Albert Too. But so far this season, Luddy was our best clutch hitter. It was a dumbazz deal. We need a left side of the infield. Third base, SS and 2b are terrible as evidenced by tonite's game.
@DwamnMan What blew tonite's game? Well, you could say the guys Tony switched around didn't perform up to par or you could say Tony had his fingers in the game too much. I'll go with Tony had his fingers in the game too much. How many times have we seen a game rolling along, going our way and Tony has to start screwing with things?
ryan ludwick sucks he hiting.098 in sd so shut the fuck up you can have him back

I agree. We gave up a guy that could help us everyday for a guy that only plays once every 5 days.

Great post man. From a Padre fan, I couldn't be happier with the trade. It seems like LaRusa's ego might end up biting him this year.

Spot on. Luddy was our best clutch hitter this season. We can't score runs, havew no secondbaseman or SS and we trade away our best clutch hitter.
