Hi formless777 - if you've read the original ramayan by valmiki in sanskrit, then you'll probably know this - ram does not treat sita as "toxic waste", he gets swayed by a dhobi's comments (a representative of the society) and sends her to exile where she bears twins who later come back to ayodhya to confront him. when he finds her again he asks her to prove her purity for "society's" sake. she decides to leave him and goes back to her mother. he is overcome by remorse and commits suicide.
Regarding that, I understand that the Ramayana has actually changed a lot over the centuries. The version you read must be the politically correct modern version. In mine, a beautifully bound 19th Century version inherited from my Great great grandmother, Rama causes Sita to suicide.

Getting to heaven is not that difficult, all a pedophile or a terrorist needs to do is to beg like a dog. He gets to enjoy heaven while his living victims live thru hell. U are a 100% correct but the difference is other religions are growing in number and hinduism is declining and many hindus are VOLUNTARILY converting to other religions..not forced mind you...thats because those hindus never understood hinduism in the first place...which is about 80% of hindus..thats why it is so easy to convert them with a little bit of logic. In about 50 years from now, what'll happen to hinduism? think about it.. and by the way BJP is not hindiusm for your information.

I´m deeply sorry if i offended your Christian sensibilities in any way. I have nothing but the most profound respect for Christianity as taught by its magnificent founder, the Master Jesus Christ. My point was simply that Christians have historically for the most part been unable or unwilling to follow the lofty and sublime ideals of Master Jesus. But that is a failure which is shared by the followers of every other religion. I never intended to target Christianity above other religions.

All cultures brake away from hinduism ,hinduism existed before islam before the Persian empire in 700 bc ,infact it has been proven scientifically by archeologist from scientific facts using the vedas that dwarika existed and lord krishna existed 3000bc and that there was no Aryan Invasion ,the indus river is where the hindus existed after moving from the hindu kush mountains,infact the whole middleeast was only hindus before the persian empire and those lands were the hindu kush lands.

Hinduism existed before Islam but the idea of god being formless in Islam,does not mean that in Hinduism we don't know that god in the highest form is formless we know the lord is formless in the highest form described in many different ways like paramatma(great soul,no gender,formless),jaganivasa(the one in whom dwell the universe,the universal cosmic energy) and our soul is formless no gender is in a male or female human body and is part of the lord soul/energy, a smaller form of energy.

also, daughters are not a curse in Hinduism. Hinduism is based on the world being created by Shakti - who is represented as Kali, Durga, Bhavani, Parvati and is worshipped in the Hindu religion as a mother. The female infanticide is because of uneducated superstitious fools who don't know any better. It is also due to certain historical factors which i cannot delve into at length now.
I hope your misconceptions are clarified someday.

Very good points hema177. It is important to distinguish between religion and society. In many early societies, until laws were introduced, women were inferior. However hinduism, at least modern hinduism is very balanced, and treats men and women equally. And so are all other world religions. Just because society is doing something, (Such as terrorism), doesn't mean that their religion is commanding them to do it. These people are just stupid fanatics who know no better. Hopefully this helps :D.

Many rules which are today attributed to religion developed as social norms. The Aapastamba Sustra (600 - 300 BC) is probably the oldest of the Smrtis or Dharma Shastras:
1.5.17.30. (But the meat) of milch cows and oxen may be eaten.
1.5.17.31. The Vaagasaneyaka declares that that bull's flesh is fit
for offerings
1.5.17.32. Among birds that scratch with their feet for food, the tame

the people of ayodhya are shocked by this and realise their mistake because they truly loved them both - the dhobi is cast out of the society.
so ram is actually proving the stupidity of societal norms because it all ends in disaster. an ideal man would be one in my humble opinion who changes the way people think by going through pain himself. he paved the way for women's liberation in a time when women had to prove their purity through hardship.

I personally think the Ram character is an idiot--don't get scandalized--he gave up such a virtuous woman of a wife Sita (who did the right thing by not going to him in the end) for the sake of society--I don't know why Hinduism has to defend Ram so much, he killed Vali wrongly (Ram could not defend his argument made by the dying Vali), made Laxman carry out his dirty work of abandoning Sita...wasn't even man enough to do it himself. Isn't that just shameful.

Hi formless777 - if you've read the original ramayan by valmiki in sanskrit, then you'll probably know this - ram does not treat sita as "toxic waste", he gets swayed by a dhobi's comments (a representative of the society) and sends her to exile where she bears twins who later come back to ayodhya to confront him. when he finds her again he asks her to prove her purity for "society's" sake. she decides to leave him and goes back to her mother. he is overcome by remorse and commits suicide.

Regarding that, I understand that the Ramayana has actually changed a lot over the centuries. The version you read must be the politically correct modern version. In mine, a beautifully bound 19th Century version inherited from my Great great grandmother, Rama causes Sita to suicide.

Can I recommend something for you mr. formless...religion is to be experienced not read, u can read and read and read till you are blue..but you will NEVER truly understand untill you experience, if I recommend a guru or a yogi where u go and meditate will you do it??..everything will become clear to you I promise, but you have to DO it not READ it. Let me know if u can travel..it will change your life..you will be a elightened hindu not a average ignorant hindu like the general population.

You're a Hindu, everything is divinity in your eyes. You can probably see divinity in cow dung. I am sure the only reason India contributed so much to the world of mathematics is by way of trying to come to terms with the number of gods you have to deal with. True divinity is not in or of this world, it is zero, the void, therefore nothing is divine.
