I have landed at that airport and it is quite scary to come in over water and not see the land until you are right at the runway. Similarly, you take off towards the hills, and the plane has to go up steeply and bank right away - quite a ride. I have also been on that beach - it is wild to see these giant planes coming in like 50-100 feet over your head. I heard there was one Air France flight that came in short and clipped the barbed wire fence and just hit the start of the runway.

This is an excellent compilation of landings and takeoffs at this marvelous airport. When the planes take off, I like the view of the mountains before they bank away from them. Definitely my kind of a beach paradise! The best of both worlds for me;the beach and the planes!
