  • Cheers some great painting tips , I love your tank, Ace work!!!!

  • I'll have to try your pigment method one day on a panzer III or something. I came up with a very effective technique for 1941 mud effects. What i do is wet the surface of the model where the mud will build up. I then dip the brush in Dark mud or russian earth pigment, and tap it over the wet surface. Once the layer is complete, i wet the surface again and repeat that until i'm happy with the mud accumulation. Looks very realistic and nice.

  • @militariacollector1 sounds like an interesting technique :)

  • Very nice mate! Thanks foe sharing. I really want to se you paint some sci-fi stuff :)

  • @madgolem i tried to get my hands on a maschinenkrieger model from hasegawa, but they are very expensive...but i will keep searching :)

  • For no reason other than 'I just don't', I don't build armour. However, seeing your builds is getting me thinking otherwise! You make it look so easy and each time you turn out a winner - and I do mean winner, as these would definitely place in a show. Top notch stuff! :)

  • @MakingModelsAgain wow, thank you for your very nice words! i hope to be good enough one day to place one of my models in a high rank in a competition.

  • @888HamilkarBarkas888 Your'r not already high ranking! ! ?!?!?! whats amater with people these are the best i have ever seen

  • @Blueatchley12 thank you for your kind words :) in fact, there are many better model builders out there, and they are not known. you should look at the models of the famous builders, like miguel jimenez. you will see why they are famous and high ranking!

  • I just ordered trumpeter's Pz38(t) and it includes some photo etched metal and I think since it's a smaller tank i'll weather it, but unfortunately I have no washes/pigments but I do plan on washing it to make it look a bit more worn. I also plan on building my first diorama with it as the subject, nothing spectacular just a road with grass or something.I heard thinned out flat black paint works well as a substitute for a black was is this still good? Anyway if you do answer back thanks.

  • @flightdeckreviews sounds good, just give it a try and the result will be nice :)

thinned down black paint works perfectly, i do the same with oil paints, but acrylic or enamel paints are fine aswell.

  • Great work on the tank. I like watching you give it that layer of special awesome sauce you use on all you models! LOL

  • The tripod is a good idea.. I always film a few seconds while working on the bit I want to show, and then check it to get a rough idea of what will be seen in the video.. then you just have to put the camera back in the same position! :) Another tip is to use a mirror behind the camera, then you can see what is shown in the camera display.. Great little tuition on the use of pigments! It's always interesting to see a skilled master at work! Continued...

  • Continued: I have bought some dry pastels and hope to get round to mixing my own weathering powders later, quite looking forward to that, but won't try it until I build a tank, which won't happen for a while yet, as I'm slowly working on my Saab aircrafts.. :) Hope to post a video of my latest build(s) next week, if I ever get them done.. :)

  • @BasicModelling thank you for telling your opinion :) the mirror trick is awesome, i will try that!

well, pigments are not so useful for aircrafts, but for tanks they are awesome! i won´t build a tank model without them in the future.

  • thumbs up mate

  • Very nice weathering ! good job !

  • Hey Michael, i bought fallschirmjager and US support teams today, (plus paints for german autumn camo and a magazine about dioramas) and i have 3 ideas of dioramas :) So the first is gonna be in stalingrad winter with my panzer IV and i might buy some winter germans...itll be a little small diorama. Then i might get 'Normandy crossroads' from miniart and use my tiger, kampfgruppe and my US support team and the last one will be in sicily, fallschirmjager flanking a US mortar team. Nice vid thanks

  • @TERMINATORNIKO sounds very interesting! i think of getting that normandy crossroads diorama, too, because i´m building a panther at the moment and have a stug IV in my stash. they are the perfect protagonists for a normandy diorama.

i´m looking forward to see your work :)

  • @888HamilkarBarkas888 :) soon i might post some videos like yours but first only the vehicles that i have ready but the quality won't be perfect since its on a mobile phone but its a ew one so yeah.

  • grate tutorial!!!

  • I got sn idea for a model, this StuG and a Panther passing by a gunned down T-34/76

    nice vid, cheers mate!

  • @sgtnick09 i´m building a panther tank at the moment, but it is a late version, so i think it is not historical correct. thank you for the suggestion anyway :)

  • this is exactly what i need to do to my STUG .

  • perfektes video! auf das stug III video bin ich schon gespannt. was man bis jetzt sieht ist schon hammer

  • @100Tigrovi vielen dank :) das video vom fertigen modell sollte heute noch kommen, mal sehen.

  • Are you going to be using rust pigments in the next video? if not can you give me some tips?

  • @XtremeScorch i won´t use rust pigments in the next video, but i will keep it in mind and will do one soon.

it can take a while, so if you need some tips now, you can send me a pm.

  • I always enjoy your videos and now this is the next best thing to being there and watching you work in person. Just finishing a p-51 using aluminum powder over acrylic paint and happy with it. Ordered my first armor, the trumpeter pzkpfw 38 ausf e and will certainly be studying your work again for tips.

  • @lunhil12 thank you for your nice words!

i´m looking forward to see your work mate :)

  • Way better, I really look forward to watching you paint some figures as well!

  • @coladito1 thanks :)

i´m not planning to make videos about painting figures in particular, but i will keep it in mind and will do one as soon as feel like doing it.

  • You wanted us to comment on your tripod but we don't get to see it so I am not sure what you are trying to get out of your new tripod. I am assuming that other tripods you used in the past is very unstable and shakes. This one in the video doesn't shake so that's good. Does this new tripod has a built in monitor so you can see what you are doing when the camera is pointing at you? If it is, then it works perfect. Sorry I just don't see the tripod so I can't give you contructive feedback.

  • @qdc748a the tripod is only a small and very cheap one, i have not used any tripod in the past. just wanted to know if you like the camera view. maybe someone suggests i should place the tripod next to me or over my shoulder.

there is no monitor on the tripod itself, therefore i can´t see what i´m doing which isn´t perfect but i will get used to it.

  • @888HamilkarBarkas888 OK. I fully understand now. Yes, I like the camera angle you used for the video. Having the view over the tank looks cool. I'm not sure if over the shoulder will work. I hope this helps. Keep warm! I understand that it's very cold where you are at. Here in the USA it is only 20C nice and warm.

  • @qdc748a i will keep playing around with my camera tripod to find the ideal camera angle.

damn thats warm where you are, we have -20C at the moment, but it looks nice because the sun is shining all day :)

  • AWESOME work!

  • Tripod is working great. I need to setup my camera like this. Check out my new channel ScaleArmorBuilder.

  • @onefstsnake thanks :) i will check out your channel mate!

  • @888HamilkarBarkas888 Thanks for the sub! I hope to post alot more

Content soon, just been so busy. :)

  • Ur models always turn out really amazing.

  • @MrJ0239h thanks :)

  • I would assume part 2 is coming next :D

  • @LeoprdGckosHaveSpots i guess you are right :D

  • Super gemacht (gealtert, gefilmt). Bravo :)

    Gruss, Vasilij "Tarner"

  • @tarner01 vielen dank!

  • Another great help with this video . Great work . Thanks

  • @TheSeasonman1 no problem my friend :) i help where i can!

  • mike it looks better we get a steady up close look at what your building ;) i really like that tank i cant wait to see that video

  • @billy3rdkill0311 i´m surprised how good the video material actually is, my lights on the workbench are quite bad, but the tripod helps here alot to make the best out of the bad light conditions.

  • looks sweeet as ..... i like the tri pod it gives a clearer frame and allows to have more of your work on vid ....cheers HP

  • @Hammerpaints thank you :)

  • Please remind me to come back and watch it tomorrow.. off to work in a minute but I don't want to miss it.. :)

  • @BasicModelling i will remind you my friend :)

  • Toll!!!

  • Tripod is more professional looks god! clear video and lighting is better!

one little question (as always): i ground covered my diorama with that mixture you are using (water, earth/sand and pva) but the sand is to loss! when i'm painting the cover it's getting off the base... do you have any tips (airbrush broke ): ) using acrillycs for the ground cover... maybe using oils because of the thickness???

    Thanks anyway !

  • @wolt96 thanks you for telling me your opinion :)

never had this problem, maybe you should add more glue or less water to it. in doubt you can put another coat of earth over the diorama base.

  • you are so good at building models :)

  • @jgn69 thanks :) you have some awesome skills aswell!
