i hope they realise that making "the world" with the headset and controller would actually be extremely simple compared to starting a mmo from scratch. they already have an item list that'd work fine (hp/mp pots, and spell items etc.) not to mention the dungeon system would work well with only a few tweaks. they have good area designs for root towns (mac anu etc.) AND they have a good class system (the rogues even seem OP like in most mmos XD). im just saying it'd be dumb to NOT make the world.
Me and a friend are researching the games data of fragment and trying to bring it back to life since CoIdBird failed at it we might try our best I even have the patch to the game all we need is the ISO to fragment and an extreme hacker who can hack the games server back online. You can still play the offline mode for fragment though but you have to be in the residence of japan to play the game.
they only said that LINK is the last of the games. Im sure theyll still make mangas. which sucks because i dont read mangas but oh well. of course japan got the only online .hack game even though it was closed down. but still that sucks that they get everything

@LegendaryScarlet I disagree, I don't think they visors would be that big of a problem because in the anime it wasn't really VR they still used keyboards and a mouse the visor is basically the same thing as a big ass screen right in front of your eyes. I'm sure that the visor actually had more special functions but all of that was ficitonal, unnecessary stuff. For conveniences sake a regular monitor, keyboard and mouse set up would be fine.

just curious,but if someone wants to make R2 ONLINE for real,why cant they just rip all the info from the GU games and work with that stuff? Think about it,you have a hundred so character models to randomize,all the items and equipment,skills,ect...all the different locations...all you have to do afterword is tweak it somewhat...right? like removing all events and converting it to MMO.

there is a PERFECT WORLD game its relative to THE WORLD online and it is like a chinese are how ever they say it asian style to it and it is on computer no disc needed just sign up download it and play but it doesnt have data drain there is also a CABAL ONLINE simularity to dot hack as will as world of warcraft and there is also a 2D THE WORLD as in .hack//itergral in the making i checked it out no players on it though................. i could send you a link to this 2D THE WORLD

( Cyber Connect 2. ) is currently in development of a new The World game actualy named The World it is currently only relised to people who have played the old version Fragment and is only available to them if they send in their old Fragment activation code, currently CC Corp. is working on it and within the next year or so it will be relised as an open beta MMORPG but atm is available to the old players of fragment.

It sounds interesting. Furthermore it would be interesting to play this game.
I'm not talking about the content that was used for this video but the actual game that they try to develop. The only thing I wonder about is. What is the world without "wandering ai's", "people falling into coma", "the key of twilight" ?
Maybe they write a story around that and give you quests ... but that would mean its nothing special, because everyone has to finish those quests.

The World(2D) that was released by Joseph Stacko was amazing, and the 3 dimensional is most likely better. The 2D version of The World was pure win, providing so many different ways to play. If you played the 2D The World by Jstacko, you'd be able to know that he is an excellent programmer, while the chances are you don't even know how to program executable commands.

this isnt "The World" its .Hack//G.U vol1. rebirth. It's a game based on a virtual reality game in japan that is sending people into coma (i cant spell) after being PK'd by the legendary PK in the last 5+ .hack game titles, so dont call this game "The World" its an insult to me and many others.

This IS CyberConnect Co.'s project, its called The World R:2, the trailer says it comes out THIS christmas eve, but i dont TRULY believe that, would be kick ass if it did tho, its the first ever 3D Dot Hack MMORPG to be released into the U.S.! prepare yourselves, its gunna kick ass so hard youll have to sit on your eyes to play it!
