They're wrong about the chromosomes. The two X-chromosomes that women have contain the same genes. Men have these genes in their one X-chromosome, but in addition we have genes on the Y-chromosome, which women don't have. So, if any, men are the "model with the extras". If any of the genes on one of the two X-chromosomes have been copied with errors, girls may have i.e. different complexions on areas of skin that have been grown from different genes.
