Eu sou americano and eu soooo in love with this guy from Brasilia. (lol) If the stomach is a way to a man's heart, I would become the best cook of Brazilian food in the world to win his.
Cassava flour? Din-din oil??? If ur making a tutorial video on ethnic foods it's a good idea to get a close up on items that are unusual. Or pop up words on video. I kept playing it over again to try to make out what he said these things were. But it wad no use. I still have no idea what those things are called. Guess this is not meant to educate someone who doesn't already know how to cook this.
I remember mom making it and it was fantastic on rice. My friends and i used to go downtown sao Jose dos Campos, from CTA, and sit outside stores eating fine foods and bate-papo
Parabéns Nando pela iniciativa de mostrar nossa rica culinária para o mundo...só não entendi a garrafa de 51 que aparece no vídeo e não faz parte da receita....hehehehehe!!
Thats a good way too but my auntie taught me another way when I went to brasil this year....she told me to use the gravy after you fry steak....thats another way...or my mom adds apple in it too! Depending on your taste.
Yes. That's pretty spot on. But I must confess I never really measured it. Plus different people like different textures. My wife likes more flour than anything. I like more bits and less flour.
i know cassava flour as manioc flour but i know that manioc contains trace amounts cyanide so does that mean you should only eat it in sparingly small amounts or do brazilians eat as much as they want?
Is interesting to see a dish so common here in Brazil, in a video teaching how to make it... Actually it is really known, and is great accompaning other wonderful dish, that we call "feijoada"...
I wait for a video teaching how to do it, nando...

@Ginobambino100 Farofa sounds like a very unlikely way into a man's heart but it's so simple to make so why not give it go. Good luck.

A very simple dish, though it would be nice to have some more exact measurements... it looks like maybe:
* 1/4 cup butter
* 1/2 white onion, chopped
* 1 1/2 Tbsp Dende oil
* 2-2 1/2 cups casava flour
* Pinch of salt to taste
Is this close at all?
