It's a tuba! Just kidding. The player at the beginning of the show is awesome Scott Beavers. The piece is Hayden's Concerto No. 3. I'm the producer of the program and I picked Scott as he was recommended to me by Winston Morris (on whose carer the film is based) as one of the half dozen players on the planet that could play this piece this well. I had to shoot 8 different times from 6 different angles and Scott played from start to finish each time with absolute precision. He's awesome...
