It's cute and it's beautiful but it is NOT ROMANTIC! That is the aggressive posturing that competing swans take. 'Threat display' , its neck and wing feathers all puffed up and raised to look as big and intimidating as possible, most often between 2 males but the lady swans do it as well and sometimes at males. Over territory or food,
this can go on for a minute or all day and end in a brawl with mum joining the fight if dad isn't winning convincingly enough. Now that IS romantic.
