Wow. I remember this catch when I was super young. I was pissed at why this wasn't given as 6. Just cause there was a board instead of a rope didn't mean the rules changed
six or not...pak won this match..india played horrible cricket those days..and this douchebag catcher, will never be seen or heard of after the catch replays..
@tripper85 Hrishikesh Kanitkar led rajisthan to their first ranji trophy victory last year cos he is a great cricketer. u know who is a douchebag salman butt, asif and amir. they fucked already fucked up pakistan
It is not a 6. Back then when there wasnt boundary ropes, you were allowed to touch the fence. Like in baseball where you are allowed to touch the fence as long as the ball doesnt go over. The ball going over the fence was a 6, the ball hitting the fence on the full but not going over was a 4, and catch being taken even if the fielder touches the fence is still a catch.
@miannkhaliq can u guys read the abv comments that are high rated.....back then you were allowed to. It only depended on the ball landing over the boundary as with football and hockey.
To all those who are saying this is a six, back when the fence was the boundary, the ball had to go over the fence and as in the video, the fielder could lean on the fence to catch the ball
@blasdc07 yes, I know...but the comment related to the fielders position in relation to the boundary; he was allowed to touch or extend over the fence so long as the ball didn't make contact with the ground.
Jeez that was lucky

If you hit the fence on the four it was four (I think). Hence this catch was considered clean.

@GGTHSpur7 no dude the fence is the boundary..therefore the ball has to directly hit the fence or fly over it.
blasdc07 3 months ago
@blasdc07 yes, I know...but the comment related to the fielders position in relation to the boundary; he was allowed to touch or extend over the fence so long as the ball didn't make contact with the ground.
