And since we CAN see them and we know that it takes light a year to travel a light year (Duh!), then we know that the light from that star has been traveling at LEAST 13 Billion years. How do we estimate the age of the universe? There are visible stars that are more than 13 Billion light years away. And since we CAN see them and we know that it takes light a year to travel a light year (Duh!), then we know that the light from that star has been traveling at LEAST 13 Billion years. @shlukh There's no proof that the bible is from any god. The Iliad, Bhagavad Gita and Sumerian creation tablets are all older than the bible and they don't agree with what it says. The bible actually stole stories from the Sumerian culture. These books also contain information that's been proven to be historically accurate but that doesn't mean everything in them is true. The bible definitely hasn't been around for all of history and millions of critics HAVE found contradiction in the bible.

@LazaaMMA There is no adequate explanation for the origin of life from dead chemicals. Even the simplest life form is tremendously complex.
The fossil record, our only documentation of whether evolution actually occurred in the past, lacks any transitional forms, and all types appear fully-formed when first present. The evidence that "pre-men" (ape-men) existed is dubious at best. So called pre-man fossils turn out to be those of apes, extinct apes, fully man, or historical frauds. :)

@thechessstick You mistake me for someone who has not read and studied on this. as for "you'll fin Atheist's and Christian's experience quite different.", this can be true in some cases, but not in others. I know and have read of many Atheist's who say they saw a wonderful light, heard god, and all other sorts of things. The same goes for Christians. It is becoming less of an extraordinary event, for science has replicated it by stimulating the brain with schocks, and is close to explaining it.

@thechessstick such as the light nearly everyone sees when an NDE occurs. this is caused because there is less blood flow to the outer rim of your eye, causing tunnel vision. Also, nearly all patients (ones who allowed for a synthetic "NDE") and real NDE experiencers have said to have seen their body from above, as if they're looking down on it. There are many others, and i suggest you should look up the explanation for these as well.

Now this is a stretch, but whats the possibility of both sides being correct in pieces to a big puzzle? God made earth, animals were here first, they evolved. Just like technology, we get better at creating things, all types of things are discovered and evolve. God probably put in a little extra work and BOOM! You got humans. In fact it is true that 93% of all the certified scientists belonging to scientifically recognized Institutes or structures reject even to discuss creationsim, for valid reasons. There is no other theory to compete with Darwinism. In fact there is not even a single proposal for a different hypothesis. I want to add that in sciences a "theory" means a scientifical hypothesis confirmed by the experience. It really means a fact! While a hypothesis is merely a scientific proposal.
