  • A little while back I watched this video series before, but I thought it would be too hard. I got my bamboo afghan hooks in the mail today and immediately thought of your tut! I loved it! It was not at all hard. Thanks for the tutorial.

Question, how do you determine how many to chain in the beginning? the next time I make this I want to do larger squares- about 12 vertical bars wide. Thanks :)

  • @poetspice You need enough chains for the bottom and for the sides. I would make a chain longer than what I think it would be, then make it. You can always remove the extra chains later.

  • Hello Beth...I just wanted to say a BIG thank you for these entrlac crochet blanket videos. They are so easy to follow. I always wanted to do entrelac but did't know it could be done in crochet. thanks again.

  • Beth, I have gotten to this point and want to start the next round but the yarn isn't on the edge like it was when I went from the first to second round. Can you help?

  • @Kuhnsey12 you must have forgotten to slip stitch up to the next level. You can still do that now.

  • i just finished my blanket I have one more to do I am having 2 boys :) I wanted to say thankyou for taking the time to post a crochet along it helped out sooo much I dont understand the instructions in the books and about 10 yrs ago my neighbor lady taught me this and i could never remember how to do it after finding out i was pregnant it motivated me to finish something i will send a pic to FB thanks again now I better get started on the next blanket :)

  • Twig not trig (its a soft brown).

  • Started mine last night, in Simply Soft Trig and soft pink for my first granddaughter! Have to make myself put it down to go to bed, lol. Plan to add a few rings of tan towards the outer edge. Excellent videos, my grandmother used to make these and I couldn't remember how, thank you. -3

  • Ahoy Captian doing great after sitting thru this great video. just to let you know i've been watching

  • Hi Beth, Thank you for the crochet tutorial. I loved doing it and I'm just finishing the last round. I may do a round of white before I'm finished. I didn't understand how to do the Entrelac until your video. Now I understand it prefectly. I'm going to have to make a pink one as I great granddaughter is expecting and we don't know what. I'm not sure that she will want to find out or not.. Anyway the one I made is blue and white and turned out well. Thank you so much. Clara

  • Hi Beth, how do I find you on facebook.

  • Hi Beth, I have a lovely example of your tutorial that I recently finished. Would love to send a photo for you to see. Thank you for the tutorial.

  • @2RaeR2 If you are on Facebook, you can tag me in a pic there or you can send me a link in the messages here on You Tube. Post the entire URL and I can copy & paste to my address bar. You Tube does not do live links in messages.

  • HOLA pues increíble seguí las instrucciones super claras muchas gracias por el tutorial me ha servido mucho estoy feliz ana de mexico

  • @aovalles09 no hay problema. eres bienvenido!

  • This is the first major project I've done and I started in very enthusiastically however, I've hit a point where I'm stuck. I've just finished the round of light around the first round of contrasting and the point where my contrasting ended is hidden underneath my light color. Did I mess up or do I just have to cut and re-join my contrasting?

  • @LMPugh1013 no. You just slip stitch up to the point where you start the next color. no need to rip it out. You can, however, cut your yarn at the end of each round and join the new color at the starting point if you like. You will have to weave in the tails when you are finished.

  • Beth, I cam across your video last week and couldn't wait to try it. I'm making mine in Deborah Norville's Chocolate and flashback. I had to laugh at myself when I found that my contrasting yarn was a whole square below where I needed to be. I had forgotten to slip stitch after finishing the round. Thank you.

  • Sorry I am a novice to YouTube lingo. What are annotations? And where are they found?

  • @fiercenfocused Annotations are messages place onto the videos and often have a clickable link. At the end of this video there is an annotation with a clickable link on the right on the video itself.

  • Did you post a video doing the border yet?

  • @fiercenfocused yes. The link is in the annotations. I also have it as part of the play list.

  • I like crocheting this blanket, I am using banana berry (it has bright green, blue and turqoise mixed) and spring green.

  • @tailtail75 That sounds pretty!

  • I'm really enjoying crocheting this blanket! Thanks so much for making this so easy to understand. How many rounds did you end up with on the other blankets?

  • @caprimomx2 I did 12 rounds for a lap robe. It also is a nice size for a baby blanket. I have not finished the other two.

  • great blanket!!!

  • Im doing a red wine with a spiral white and tan mix yarn. Im using the softee chunky yarn and I am getting to the point where I will have to use another ball of yarn to continue can you show how to do a chane of yarn I keep meaning to look at the project to see where I would think I would change but for some reason its just not clicking.

  • @Keikue1 slip stitch up the side of the cc square above, then chain 5.

  • thats looking so pretty

  • Your a great teacher! I have a few projects to finish up and once I'm done, this is going to be my next one! I can't wait. Thanks for showing us :)

  • Thank you so much for this!!, when you talked about the "L"side and no "L"side that was a big help, I'm looking foward to the border video, What I have done so far looks pretty good, God Bless

  • This is a great series of videos I can't wait for part 15. I have a pattern for an entrelac crochet poncho which starts at one edge and is so complicated that I really don't feel confident about it. Thanks so much for doing this for us. :-)

  • thank you so much!

  • I'm using lavender and light blue yarn from red heart, I'm so excited about this blanket ")

  • hi, thanks so much for this crochet along. i'm stuck, however. i'm at a point where i've done what i could with the green (or contrasting color) and now the original color where i left off is in the middle of the L or the corner of the L in between two green squares (i've left the working green unfinished in case i have to undo it). how do i work on the original (multicolored) with it being in the corner there?

  • @diyay You do the same thing you did when you started the previous row. I'll try and fins the right video and place an annotation on this one.

  • @diyay The video that shows you is part 9.

  • I'm using Red Heart yarn, colors: Cameo Rose & Burgandy

I don't really know how big I want to make this blanket, guess I'll keep going until I almost run out of these colors :)

  • I'm using Turqua and Orchid in red heart yarns, only because I bought them and then the project I was using them for changed and I decided not to use them. I hope I have enough till the end of the project!

  • i,m loving it ty.. im using large scrap yarn pink and purple

  • Ok we'll just have to wait... And talk to me about eye-sight! I hear you girl! lol

  • Part 15 will be up in a week or so. I have to work the blanket to the point of making the border.
