I have a Casio LK-270 keyboard, and I have it connected through a usb port on my laptop. Whenever I go under midi input though, nothing shows up. XD What am I doing wrong?
@rainbowjesse18: Sorry, it's hard to trouble shoot the hardware issues with out being there. I did Google that model and it is Linux combatible. But, have you tried it with any other programs (Ardour, rosegarden, Qtractor, etc.). When running LMMS, are you using JACK? Does it show up as a device in JACK control or Patchage? What distro are you running?
@metalx,first of all thanks for the video, the question about instrument definition I guess is this:I play live.In every song I play I must use about 12 different sounds so in FL I make a song with 12 tracks, when I select the first I have the first instrument I need, and so on. In FL only the selected traks play on keyboard trigger. You can use prog up/down for changing the selected track So is simple to change intrument on the fly while you are playing.
cool butt i seen you set up 2 tracks with the midi wht happen if you go to record a track then go to record the 2nd one with this play both the same time like this all the time if so not very good lol no i just asking rely like to learn lmms i learn fl i fill lmms just as good you just got to learn it
metalx1000: no what i mean is that i got it working talking to the MC-505 synth, but i would like to have instrument definitions like in cakewalk, cubase etc.
now its only showing for example: channel 1 sound 1. . . :(
So what im really is asking is how can i make my own instrument definitions?
@ztealmax: I don't have hardware like that, but I believe that if you choose "output" instead of "input" in the controller settings you should be able to choose that device. Let me know if that works.
@mizudesu: Then, maybe you don't have any midi inputs. But I'm betting you do is you are trying this. So to "Edit>Settings" and click on the icon of them MIDI keyboard. What do you have selected as "MIDI interface"?
@Gorg5321: As long as you have the hardware hooked up and turned on before your start up LMMS you shouldn't have too. If you start LMMS up and then plug your MIDI device in, I'm not sure if it will automatically connect. So, just make sure you have everything setup before starting LMMS.

Thanks, but one questions: Do I have to set these settings every time new? (Like for the knobs)

Thank you for this. I have a Yamaha DGX 505 Keyboard connected to LMMS under Ubuntu 9.10 x64 and it works perfectly. Even output to midi works!
