  • can i have the backing track PLEASEE?? ;;)

  • thats a reall good cover...waaa I want to see the satriani's coment xD

  • It is such a pure quitar ... very beautifull = Joe you are the best

  • wooow

  • Oh man, I reaaally love you.. I mean, your music.. I mean you.. I mean.... you are full of awesomeness!

  • even if you are a perfect player..its not nice to immitate..create your own style...i mean you even stand the way satriani stands...even the same ring!!!!!!!

  • the people who disliked this stuff are just jealous. your stuff is great!

  • this is the 1st satch song ive listened to in about 3 years man and i've gotta say i love it! well done

  • Hey, How do you (and Satch I might add) get that Whammy-ish lead sound. It's almost as if he's playing an octave down with the pedal up an octave, but he's not. I can hear it predominantly in your playing at 0:49.

  • @ThatVaiGuy

You mean that octave up sound? That is done with the ultimate octave by fulltone. See the description box for more pedal details.

  • pfffffff! what a tone! awesome dude:)

  • very you didn't force the thing and you played very melodic, respect!

  • You are a VERY good player man!! Keep up the outstanding work.

I would be on your channel even more than I already am if you could do a cover of any one of the following,

    Ten Words

    Chords of Life

    What Breaks a Heart

    Come on Baby

  • 20 people expected that it would be Joe Satriani..they end up pressing the dislike button..

man..Joe Satriani is proud of you.

  • I normally would never comment on amateur cover vids, but you should quit playing Joe's shit and form a real band that fucking rocks, so I have something worth a fuck to listen to. good luck and keep up the awesome playing...

  • ay mate

i have also the same gear the js guitar and strip

i think we share the same "love"

    satriani forever!

  • hey man ! very good ,,, tabs please ??

  • Awesome as usual, I want to make a cover request for Joe's song Mystical Potato Head!

  • @hubbastink

    Thanks!

Is on my to do list. Will come eventually!

    Cheers!

  • Such a beautiful cover.

  • 19 dislike? god....

  • genial!! sin duda es una de mis muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuchas favoritas

    joe satriani es graaande :)

  • how much you paid for you js 1200?

  • hey there brilliant cover....I admire your skill :).....how do you manage to set up all your pedals at once though (i.e vox time machine & vox satchurator), cuz I am absolutely eager to get both pedals but just don't know how to set them both up at the same time??....can anyone help??

  • @Liampearce26

What do you mean, setting both pedals up at the same time?

  • @guitarextremist

Well basically if I had two pedals i.e the vox time machine and vox satchurator but obviously didn't know how to like set them up on the same circuit or lead if you will for the same amp....how would I go around doing that?

  • @Liampearce26

I dont see the problem. Just line up your guitar into the satchurator -> time machine-> amp. And just work out different settings until you find a nice sounding one. And you also get Joe's settings if you buy the pedals and some other settings you can try out.

  • @guitarextremist

Thanks for your help.....do I just basically need an extra guitar lead to connect the satchurator and the time machine together?

  • such a perfect technique and feeling, very impressive..but why such a dull video, those backgrounds are terrible:D

  • Nicely done, but take special care with the technique. There are a lot of flaws, it'll break you in time if you overdo it.

  • awesome man..wtg..and congrats on getting the masters attention

  • Very nice

  • I think you def captured Satches sound. You seem a little stiff in the fingers, prob due to trying to get every note perfect, which is normal.Good Job all in all!

  • Awesome Video, Why so less viewer??

  • where is joe s comment? congratulations

  • dag, een nederlander die commentaar van Joe zelf heeft gehad (en ook nog eens supergoed gitaar speelt) dat zie je tegenwoordig niet veel meer. Je bent echt supergoed, ga zo door!!!

    P.S. Waar woon je?;D

  • The comment section of this video is holy. I spent the whole video looking at Joe's comment lol.

    Good work man

  • where do you find playback of no famous songs?

  • how did u do that ? :D With background and everything?

  • hey great playing, i have a peavey envoy 110 but its an older version, and i was wandering how much i could sell it for?

  • seems to be the only cover of this on youtube at the moment, it really is an awesome song and you did an awesome job, this song off the live in paris DVD is one of my favs from that show, along with Ghosts thats also great

  • nice m8 any more bass sound really nice

  • Very Nice! Even Joe himself is interested in your playing. You have alot of skills enough to make your own music I am sure.

  • Lets not forget that this individual is obviously hooked up to a very decent sound system here! I garantee you that hes not playing through a 2 or 300$ guitar amp here! When you have that kind of sound backing you, you would be amazed at how easy it is to sound professional... the rest is just practice, practice, practice, my friend. I know from experience being a practicing musician for over 15 years! If you want something bad enough, you WILL get it!

  • @guitarguy316

Actually the amp did cost around $350, it's just the pedals that makes the difference. (and my fingers of course ;-) )

  • @guitarextremist Well, then I applaude your exceptional skill then! You are very talented indeed! You do a flawless job of re-creating the one and only Satriaini...the best guitarist this Universe will ever hear! What advice could you give someone as to which scales to pay particular attention to or on how to approach scales as a whole?

  • @guitarguy316

    Thanks a lot man!

Well for playing covers of Joe you dont really need to know any scales, just the correct tabs.

As for learning scales, first focus on learning all 5 shapes of the basic scale. (there are exceptions in those basic scales like when you go to a blues scale, some notes change. But that's an advance lesson.)

Then concentrate on one scale mode like C Major and practice that one till you can dream it. After that it's a matter of positioning that scale pattern

    Good luck

  • @guitarextremist

Great redition of Joe's song. Do you mean the 5 positions of the minor pentatonic scale? Also, how exactly did you learn to play guitar? I'm using the Metal Method right now and lots of Guitar Pro tabs as well. I've never had enough money to take lessons, they are just too expensive. Keep up the good work.

  • @Formulaone21

Metal Method is indeed a great way to get to know all about the theoretical aspect of the guitar, and I've used it too, but couldnt find the time to really finish it. I also use al lot of guitar pro tabs to learn fast solo's and stuff, and of course learn and play your favorite song, and practice a lot.

  • @guitarguy316 I humbly disagree with you man. Tone is in the fingers and hand. So many young players coming up thinking they have to have high dollar equipment to sound good. It's just not true. I'd even venture to say that high dollar equipment is actually less forgiving.

  • Wow! That Was Amazing! I was sooooooo Inspired! Thanks!!!!!!

  • not bad like stu hamm too

  • hi, great play and gratz for joe's comment ^^

what are your settings for satchurator and fulltone?

are they actived all the time together and during all the saturation parts? gz for joe's comment ^^

  • całkowity odlot... gratulacje... pozdrawiam...

  • Your hands are pro ones... you're just amazing : it's the very first time I feel the same emotion than while listening to the original... You're talented !! Never stop !!

  • he had hair lol

  • There's no doubt in my mind that you are going places! I mean, with the sheer talent you display here...it's merely a matter of time.

  • mate ur unreal. awesome tone and playing. highly underrated. ur videos should have more views

  • amazing playd ! never seen in my life a guy that can play like joe satriani perfect ! but u rock dude ! just keep it up i would like to se more of you .. dude u rock !!

  • Ooooof! That gives me chills! Very well done man. Very well done indeed. Absolutely perfect playing - if I close my eyes I'm listening to Joe. Thanks for sharing this with the world.

  • I think Joe knows who to turn too the next time he needs a new guitarist!

    ;)

  • wow... Joe is around! Thank you for your music!

  • ... Very Cool!

  • WOW! A message from Joe himself!

Thanks a lot man! Im really happy you like my video!

Please also watch my "chickenfoot - learning to fall" and my come on baby video which I made for my daughter. I'l send you an invitation for that one cause it's a private video.

Cheers man, hope to hear from you again!

  • Wow! The master himself commented on Your video!! You have to be very proud! I'm jealous...

    All the best from Germany,

    Otto

  • Wait, what. Is that, Joe!?

    Oh god!

    *Jealous meter is rising*

Very cool tho I agree, brilliantly played!

  • Comment removed

  • @g3joe Is it strange for you to see yourself being emulated so often?

  • @g3joe You're an inspiration to all of us, Joe

  • cool i love it

  • Thanks! :-)

  • how did you make the backgund

    .????/

  • hi men

    you play very good

    a question, XD

    where you got the backintrack?

  • Thanks man!

There is no backing track on this one. I just used the original song from the album and mix it in with what I am playing. A little volume work but it works out fine :-)

I use sony vegas pro 8 to do that.

    Cheers

  • Hey i hope u don't mind me asking but how long did it take you to get to this level. how do u practice and how long it takes u to learn a song?i want to be as good as you but its just so frustrating at times.

  • No problem. I now play for like 9 years. And in the first years, when I was still going to school, I was practicing most of the time for like 8 hours a day. Not anymore of course, cause now I have a job too. I wasnt really practicing these days, just more like learning as many songs as posible to play. A couple of years later I began practicing the theory and everything, to refine my technique, and be able to play as clean and accurate as possible.

Good luck and always practice slow!

  • thanks man, i guess i just gotta stick with it. its just been frustrating that i want to be able to play as beautifully as u and i cant just yet. but hopefully in time. keep on playing.

  • I know what you mean man. But just keep practicing, and do it slow. Gradually build up speed and be patience with it. And dont practice ALL the time. Also play the songs you like to play and enjoy playing the guitar.

Everything will work out fine eventually!

  • Good work, Nice playing..... keep it up

  • Thanks!

  • Bro, I hope you don't mind me asking, You seem to be using the same axe as Satch, but why aren't your notes sustaining as long as his? especially the notes at 4:52 & 4:57.

  • I know what you mean. 2 reasons: my strings at that day were quite old, and needed replacement. And about the gear. Yes I have almost every pedal he has, but I dont have the same amp. His JSX combo OR (half) stack is no compare to my little envoy 110... :-S

And I think there are several "in the studio" reasons for it as well...

  • i dont suppose you have a tab for this?

  • Of course I have! All the songs I cover, I use the official tab-book tabs. And if not, then it's said in the discription box, like my "lights of heaven" cover, which is a live version.

  • ooohhhhh.....

i couldnt find a tab anywhere

  • I always buy the offcial tab-books. They're quite cheap and you always have the best tabs out there. The one the artist uses.

  • pity that they dont sell it here

  • You can buy them on Ebay too if you want, and there are more online stores where you can buy the books from. Just search for it!

  • Can you do a cover of time machine?

  • Sure, maybe I will someday

  • Dont call it "Joe Satriani" when its not the original song?

  • Only the begin is different from the original. And the beginning part is also one of the ways Joe plays it. Just check out his out of the sunrise podcast.

Not to mention his live version which is very different in his solo...

  • he means.. it's not Satriani playing.. it's a cover..

  • wow!! nice! awesome cover!... hey how do you do those videos....??

  • :-D thanks a lot man!

The editing is all done with sony vegas pro, as well as the chroma key for creating the background smoothly behind me.

    Cheers!

  • wow good one bro!!:D 5*

  • :-D thanks man!

  • very nice, one of the best vids ive seen on youtube.. just one question, what program did you use to create the background.. thanks.

  • Thanks a lot man!

The video editing was done by Sony Vegas Pro 8, which was also in the discription ;-)

  • good although too much delay and reverb sounds like a ghost guitar a bit, but although very nice

  • Maybe a litlle too much reverb but the delay is fine to me. Joe uses a long and good hearable delay. Maybe mine was al little too much feedback. Oh well...

Thanks for your comment anyway ;-)

  • wher you get the tab frm ?

  • From the official tab=book ofcourse, just as for all my other covers. 9 of the 10 songs I cover I've got the tabs from the official tab-books. Its easy and accurate, and official ;-)

    Cheers

  • great cover dude...uplifiting : )...you got any of ur own stuff?

  • Thanks man, and yeah till now the only song of my own is the guitar idol song.

Im hoping to post some of my own soon too.

    Stay tuned mate!

  • Nice job dude. Nice smooth chromakeying too!

  • Thanks!

  • wow satch is good, really nice song......regards!!!!

  • Thanks man!

  • awesome

  • Thanks you!

  • great

  • Thanks!

  • how you do the background mate, obviously its a green screen but what software you use??

  • I already put al the gear and software used to make this video in the discription ;-)

Anyway I use Sony Vegas Pro 8

  • Impressive :D not everyone how can to an cover to one of joes songs. Good Playing man ;D

  • Thanks man!

  • Very nice

  • Thanks!

  • Absolutely Amazing man!!!! 10 stars!! I love the pictures in the background,it totally sets the mood of the song! PERFECT!

  • Yeah! Thanks a lot man! :-D

  • Nice as always :) Keep it up :D (hoping for new videos soon) :)

  • Thanks!

And new video's are coming on there way!

You can look out for one big rush and revelation!

    Cheers

  • Very good job man !!! nice feeling ! 5* =)

  • Thanks a lot man!

  • j'adore bien joué ! 10/5

  • Thanks!

  • Damn this is great stuff.

I like the green screen Idea, I thought about trying it once I get into the swing of things.

I saw a vid where they used the 50 cent green poster board on a wall, did all of it for like 30 bucks.

  • One thing I always thought would be awesome is a white background with like a radiating color effect, like a color smoke, that pulses with the music.

  • That's a nice idea too. Maybe for the extremist video or something. Thanks!

  • Yeah, you dont always have to buy those really expensive and proffesional green screens. My screen isn't even really green. It's more ocean green, which is a mixture of green and blue. Works fine with me :-)

  • that was an amazing cover, and the background's were really full of meaning. amazing job. Maybe you will do "The Extreamist" by satch some time, since its in your name, and its a good song. he he

  • Thanks man, and yeah, maybe I will do the extremist someday ;-)

    Cheers

  • That's how it's done! Excellent job my friend!

  • Amazing job extremist glad to see a new video, much love man. 5*

  • Thanks mate!

  • i can easily see why it took you so long to put this video up, because you made it perfect. the tone and phrasing is unreal man. theres tons of emotion, and subtle phrasing that make it fantastic. this could very well be my new favorite youtube video!

  • wow thanks man! I really appreciate that :-D

  • awesome man ive been waiting for this video for forever! its incredible man!!! keep um coming!

  • Sorry it kept you waiting man. And Im glad you like it! :-D

  • Awesome, 5* !

Great playing, great song, and great video quality =P

Une des meilleure cover de Satch sur Youtube =)

  • Thanks a lot man!

  • yeah! rock the time machine! can't wait to get one myself.

perfect cover man, cant wait for more videos!

  • Yeah the time machine rocks!

    Thanks for your comment man!

  • keep on bro...keep rocking and show your talent...got here a fan and follower of your work =)

    5*****

  • Thanks a lot man! Thanks for supporting me! :-)

  • Your keying could use some work. There's an ugly outline around you. But other than that and the small gap of space over your head, it's a good song. 5/5

  • I know. I dont have a true green screen. I just use a green/blue blanket which is hard to truely hide. And the small gaf over my head is a bug...If I made the gap smaller, the I would have a gap(or 2 black bars) at the sides :-S Pretty annoying...

But anyway thanks you like it.

  • If you want me to, I could key your future videos. I use Keylight for Adobe After Effects, which is one of the world's most advanced color keyers. It can get you a much crisper edge without having to worry about bugs and things like that. But if you don't, it's perfectly fine.

  • Great playing! 5* and faved! You really are one of the best Satch coverers on Youtube! You have so much feeling! GO GUITAREXTREMIST!

  • Wow, thanks a lot man! Thanks for your kind words!

  • Well, to me, they're not just kind words, they're fact! Can't wait for your next vid! Have you considered The Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing?

  • Allright man, thanks!

The next video I guess will be one big rush cause its a great song, and cause it's not that difficult Im guessing it will be quite soon online!

And yes I've considerd TMPHGT, but that arppegio really needs a very low action, and Im really wondering how Joe get's it so low. Other that that is only a matter of practice and stretch. The rest of the song is quite easy (to me..) ;-)

    Cheers

  • What can I say...absolutelly love it man!!!!! GOOD JOB!!! Keep it going!!!

  • Thanks man! :-D I will!

  • i have just sent you a message have a read dude it about your playing

  • great playing

how do you record your sound so clearly

  • Thanks man!

I thought my recording sound could need a little improvement...I recorded it on my Full HD video camera which can record in dolby digital 5.1

  • thanks i will enjoy your next videos

  • AMAZING!! I have waited for this for a LONG time!!! And it was SOOO worth it man!!! This was amazing in EVERY way!! 5* and faved!! You ROCK!!!

  • Wow, thanks a lot man! Im glad you like it :-D

  • This is really cool dude!!! I wish my green screening looked like that...

    Rock On!!

    -Eric

  • Thanks man!

  • OH DANG, THAT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!! I've always loved this song.

  • Thanks a lot man! It's a great song! ;-)
