  • I am lucky enough to see him on the stage and performing this album in Dublin! He has amazing energy. He was on the stage nonstop about 3 hours! I love his music, his voice, his talent, his perform, etc etc etc

  • i've been lookin for this since a friend played it to me at work 4yrs ago! thanks Retardico x

  • Just warched the show on BBC 4 and just loved it!

" Pay me my money down " was absolutely spectacular.

    Heleen - NL

  • Damn - this is asesome!

  • What is this song called?

  • Parents - Introduce this music to your children before the age of 8. Why? So they don't get into horrid new auto tuned talentless music.

  • I love the Seegar sessions.

  • They seem like they're having such a great time. Fantastic songs, brilliantly played, one of my favourite albums. My 4yr old and 6yrd old nephews love them too!

  • I was at this performance - a friend of mine won 2 tickets - I was 5m from Bruce ... it was unreal!

  • One of the great folk songs against automation and the displacement of workers.

  • BBC iPlayer originally had this gig online for a week. I watched it three times... Wish I'd been there more than any other gig I've missed I think. Love it.

  • Great banjo playing.

  • I'm glad Bruce hasn't left any "Americana" unsung.

    Cool...

  • unfortunatly i havent seen a seeger session band concert...great banjo player

  • Fantastic, thanks Bruce all the years of enjoyement, a man who loves his music and loves his fans! Keep rockin.. John (K England) p.s. Love the sessions Band! Cant wait to listen to them and get to know the music!!

  • This is absolutely brilliant.Bruce is Magic.

  • Zio Bruce, mi rivolgo direttamente a te: suoneresti "John Henry" e "Pay me my money down" per il mio compleanno?

    Fatti sentire.

  • It's unbelievable how he sings this song!

His voice just ROARRRRRRS.....he nailed it!!!

  • Anybody who's revered and reference by Steve Earle as much as Springsteen is, MUST be a legend. Remember: Bruce was the first of his breed to be hospitalized for exhaustion (e.g., 5-hour shows every night on tour...), as opposed to spinning out on shitty drugs and then whining about how difficult rehab was, ad infinitum....

"Greetings..." & "The Wild..." are arguably 2 of the best albums ever produced....E-V-E-R.

  • For his original material, though...the E Street Band must be credited.

Without a doubt the most exciting band in mainstream music. Just listen to live versions of "Rosalita" or even the studio version of "Thundercrack".

  • @insightphotos

    Thats right!

  • oh brother where art thou was a feckless coen brothers vanity production; THOSE Hollywood tools jumped the train far too late. Springsteen has this stuff in his blood and jumps to no ones tune. Anyone who is familair with his history [ Nebraska/Joad] knows he starts fro where he stands.

  • Springsteen yet again jumps on too late?.....Bullshit, Springsteen is a fucking legend, Rethcuet crawl back under that rock, shame on you.

  • Springsteen jumping on to nothing here. Fact is Seeger has heard this album and likes it. Springsteen also grown up with this music... from his own listening to his grandma singing buffallo gals to him as a kid.

Bruce adds life and depth to these songs which in fact aren't seegers own songs anyway but date years back. Seegers versions are dull in comparison

  • rethcuet and stemcg2-- both of you are unnecessarily partisan. Springsteen sounds quite wonderful and new and if you read the Rolling Stones edition from when the album came out you'd see Seeger likes the album. That said Pete Seeger has a completely different charm, altogether different sound and vintage history that can't be equaled. Why bother with all this "he's better than so and so"? Just enjoy the music.

  • Hm. I saw the "oh brother where art thou" music video. It isn't so enjoying than the seegers music. I feel happy myself as I hear Springsteens. The other is just 'nice'. But if you prefer those band, it isn't a problem. We aren't the same.

  • rethcunt,

Great stuff with that comment! The bitter Brit calling someone second rate! Maybe someday your country will again be relevant and you won't be such a bitter underachiever.

Oh and for the record, you may want to check out a record called Nebraska, released by Springsteen back in 1982. Do a little listening and you'll see the silliness of your claim that he "suddenly discovered that it is cool to be in roots music." Joker.

  • this should do it for anybody but live in dublin best show on this seeger sessions tour ..

  • MAWHERGIO: Gracías por compartir con los que no pudimos asistir a sus conciertos en España, Gracias. FANTASTICO!!!

  • This rocks!

    Peace...........
