  • Cheers but 2months late mate

  • Great song! Especially love from 0:08 to 0:18 -- best intro ever?

  • ohhhh what this song does to me! Tim is still beautiful! good times.

  • Born 1970 , nuff said !

  • @grahamch67 -- Hi, graham. Happy birthday!

  • My auntie used to play this in her purple mini cooper s with "Purple Ronnie" written on the back window when I was little, she was about 19 at the time. I "inherited" her CD's a few years later ;). I'm now 21. How times change, good memories!

  • stone roses came first

  • I'm sure this is filmed at Hawkstone Park?

  • Im another 4rom dem daies late 80ies still stoned mann.

  • im only 20 and i always thought since a lil kid, better growing up with such music than drinking milk.. im listening to charlatans, new order, blackfield, cure, etc since i was like 5 until now and let me just tell you i would never ever change this for the worlds money... im rich! im rich and glad that i got to live to an era where such beautiful music still exists at least for some of us...

  • Quality through and through x

  • I wish I was a teenager around this time... unfortunately, I was even born 'till 1994. But I don't listen to a lot of modern music now with the exceptions of Kasabian, Beady Eye and a few others. I still normally listen to the likes of Oasis, The Charlatans, Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, The Verve and Black Grape.

  • @seanrafferty100 i was 18 at the time..... it was the best time of my life....and still is...enjoy my friend...

  • @seanrafferty100 I was a teenager and it was fukin great, everyone got on with each other.

  • @seanrafferty100 I'm with you there accept for Oasis, for other great 90's bands check Inspiral Carpets,Ride,Lush,Curve,My Bloody Valentine,Senser,The Levellers,Pop Will Eat Itself, Neds Atomic Dustbin,Wonderstuff.... ah wait the list is endless.

  • @Tidpole I love Ride too mate. And starting to get right into the Inspiral Carpets!

  • @seanrafferty100 well at least you have good taste, there's hope yet, check out those other bands I mentioned, their styles are very different but some great influences there and some links will lead you to other great bands. Also don't ignore some of the electronic bands of that era... Future Sound of London, Orbital, The Orb, Eatstatic, Banco De giai or wonder off into Sheep on Drugs and that's just U.K. the bands

  • Music at its best....

  • charlies piss oasis. nuff sed

  • what a tune, what a tune . madchester late 80s early 90s.

  • "Happy Mondays", "The Verve" and "The Charlatans" oh yeah ma brotha! .-)

  • @fortheloveoftunes , just add inspiral carpets and RIDE,

    and we are in heaven.

  • less than 24h left..athens@fuzz club LIVE !!!!!!!!

  • so happy to have grown up during that ea

  • @gimmemorecoffee

Grew up in that era also...I feel priviledged to have discovered amazing british bands like the Charlatans, FIrst time round. Went to some amazing house partys back then and always remember listening to the charlatans...Happy days :-)

  • @gimmemorecoffee Me too sunshine !

  • ok so this Friday there's a party taking place dedicated to The Charlatans, and they will show up there! so can't wait to see you my lovies!

  • this song is great

  • man i don't understand why these dumbshits oasis fans saying they are better than charlatansi mean this band will be is rock roll hall fame

  • @deadpooln12 just ask those same oasis fans who's still there making music instead of playing in john lennon tribute bands. Beady eye's debut album is by far the worst of this century and if they still don't shut up after that tell them 3 words that will gurantee to even silence noel himself. THE REAL PEOPLE! Oasis are just a rip off of them as well as the other countless bands theyve ripped off in the past.

  • Forgot how good they were im going on ebay to see if i can get the some friendly t-shirt i had one when i was little im well happy

  • wish they were big in the US..........great band

  • great band :)

  • Inc.redible song,incredible melody

  • I just keep (re)discovering more and more awesome music, it's almost too much

  • You're furious, I'm glorious, you never hurt me that much. Love it

  • Neds Atomic Dustbin....

  • This song reminds me of places

  • Such a great tune live

  • I've still got a promotional 12 inch of this at my parents house!! Great stuff!

  • A definite highlight from their debut "Some Friendly". Love the trippy hammond organ and bass.

  • pure excellence!

  • Yes yes Hammond and solid bass!

  • Nice, play it often after a hefty nights drinking first thing in the morning.Helps to extend the 'last night' vibe.

A great soundtrack to assessing last nights misdemeanors.

    Quote me on that!

    LOL

  • These were the salad days for me - god, I was free.

  • Los vi en la sala universal sur con un amigo. A nuestro lado estaba Alaska.

  • @mattyw70 my sentiments exactly, where have the last twenty years gone, it seems like yesterday dude, we were finishing school and all this mad shit was going on!

  • Top band!

  • feels very much like Sonic Flower Groove..

  • just one of my fav tracks ever, this band were (and still are) so good live, they had such a great sound, and Tim Burgess, was such a front man, in the mould of Brownie, these were great times, in our baggies and kickers, cant wait for the reissue, cant believe its 20 years, its like yesterday..this and the Only one i know, was never off my turntable, and i was never off the dance floor..good times..

  • @foreverashcroft , excellent live and us and us only is one of the most underrated albums of the last twenty years, and what a finish to a song "you never hurt me that much" quality

  • my fav charls song, just fkn love it, great intro..great nights, great gigs, great memories....

  • Gotta agree with you there pal...What do you think of their tune "Just when your thinking things over"? It has to be up there with this...

  • Grym tröja! Är det adidas?

  • True. charlies, inspirals, roses, mondays,

james, RIDE.. Fucking CLASS ALL of them..

  • Yeah, I can't see why everybody is trying to overpitch them own favourite band over others. So fuck off trying to say that the Chars were better than the Stone Roses, Inspiral Carpets, Happy Mondays or whoever they all might be. They ALL, in each single band, are simply a whole bunch of great fucking musicians, unique each one, incomparable. Thanks to ALL of them, get down on your knees and praise whoever you want for having given us that great sound!!!

  • @inspiralroses Amen.

  • @Shrykespeare Thanks.

  • @inspiralroses good point well put

  • @geo1008 Thanks.

  • @inspiralroses Couldnt agree more with you mate, i love all the madchester bands, went to see the chars at the manc apollo on saturday night, with support from shaun william ryder. They kicked off with "then", what a tune!!!, a top madchester nite out, with shaun doin some mondays stuff, as well some black grape tunes. My charlatans 1994 tour shirt from the legendary trentham gardens gig in stoke, went down well too.!!! rave on!!!

  • @inspiralroses. My god, that is the best way to define all those bands, it was a truly magical wonderful time to be growing up, still look back fondly, nice 1, matey have a goodun.

  • @stephen313 Thanks, the boys really all gave me the inspiration and the reason to write that one down!!!

  • @inspiralroses Anything can be compared to anything else. This is not an argument against talent, just your use of "incomparable."
