In my cd version, the closing sample is missing, but my tape version has it -- anyone remember the bird that comes along and eats all the slugs? Why did they cut it, I wonder?
The slug dub will allways have a happy place in my happy side.... especially thomas's little gun..pop pop...lol............. weird though...i frigging hate slugs but this songs make me wanna hug em...lol...
Oh GOD. It really doesn't get any better than The Orb, does it.
I am taken far, far away.
If there was ever an Idiom dictionary created, with audio examples of what each term meant, this would be the audio for, "more than the sum of its' parts".
Nothing but love for this track.
I like how uncomfortably aggressive it gets at about 3 mins in, then cools it down when the massive chorusy phasy beats come along.
I listened to this for years and years. Not that good anymore, but back in those days it was defineatly among top 10 favourite songs. Your dad understood it streetpunk420. There was a lot of good music back in those days, but this was probably one of the better.
@SSEnrich How can it not be that good anymore if it is the exact same song? Maybe your tastes have changed but this song has remained a gem on a great album.
Remember when this album came out - really divided the Orb following at the time. Loved it - the perfect follow up to 'Pomme Fritz' and the perfect opener for 'Orblivion'. I always come back to this album, saw them live in Leeds this year too. Good times indeed.
This is my all-time favorite song. The whole album is amazing, but this song has it all - humor, deep vicious bass, and that special Orb weirdness. Adore it.
the sigh at the beginning denotes post satisfaction ennui.
