  • DOES ANYBODY ELSE GET FREAKED OUT BY HETFIELDS LAUGHING AT THE END OR IS THAT JUST ME!?!!! O.o Sends a darn cold chill down my back every time!!!

  • I WANT TO SEE THEM SO FUCKING BAD IT'S UNBELIEVABLE! IT WOULD BE THE BEST THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO ME!

  • 0:04 ~ 0:07 "yeeeeah mothafuckeeeer" hahahaha

  • At 5:54 everyone's heart raced.

  • I'm going to learn the first solo soon. Or try to at least.

  • @ChrisHisWickedness don't worry both solos are easy I'm sure you can handle it

  • @ChrisHisWickedness Its really easy.

  • This always kicks ass live.. This one sounds a little faster then they usually play live, maybe im nuts, maybe the redbull.

  • 0:04 ya muther fucker

  • is this in Long Beach?

  • @vmacmedia Irvine, Verizon Amphitheater .

  • great fucking night, I was here. They kicked so much ass. Does anyone have the ENTIRE concert??? I know it was streamed live on Mission Metallica but does anyone have the whole thing?

  • lol is the crowd not singing?

  • @elpepedepepes

They probably are singing. James looks all satisfied with the crowd.

This is probably directly from the soundboard, no crowd mics.

  • kirk hammett is so fuking awesome

  • this was a night to remember! i was ACTUALLY on stage with them on the left side!

  • GOD I LOVE METALLICA SO MUCH!!! I wish they NEVER stop performing!!!

  • why were there picks on robs mike??? omg

  • @chapapwnszombies

because they always run around the stage. and if James does not get lost on the pick will run on the other end of the scene at the ankle. go to the nearest microphone and take. when Metallica played Jason in every even racks were James's, Kirk's and Jason's picks

sorry for my English. I'm from Poland

  • i dont think that was his mic

  • i have one from leeds fest 08 hehe

  • cuz if one of the guitar players needs one and is close to robs mic..then he can grab it.. just some sort of precaution.. u never know :]

  • James can sing the new stuff really well just not the old stuff coz during the black album era he blew out his voice and had to take singing lessons. Its not been the same since but i still love him!

  • Gods who live among men

  • he singed so much better during the And Justice for All/Black era

  • For real?? I can't believe it! it passed from that era... oh! only twenty years... I can't believe James can't sing as well as 20 years ago... so strange...

  • but he still gives most of the energy to the band.

i love it caus he plays with anger!

  • 6:21 james looks so fucking huge next to lars

  • James IS huge.

    Lars IS small. xD

  • rofl true

  • Oh man I was at this show...my husband got me tix for my birthday. Seeing METALLICA live was one of the highlights of my entire life. And whoever said that the crowd was lame was CORRECT. My husband and I were goin nuts, standing and singing and screaming, and everyone around us were sitting down, barely even reacting to the ROCK GODS that were performing for us...at one point I started shouting at the people around us... "GET UP, YOU IDIOTS, THIS IS F***ING METALLICA!!!!!!"

  • \m/

Is the only thing that i have to say.

  • º¤ø„ METALLICA „ø¤º°¨

    ,¸„ø¤º°¨ 4 EVER ¨°º¤ø„¸from PERU

  • wow i love this but the crow? Really? like in the beginning when he stops singing you sing!! thats just how it goes!

  • normally I don't like this kind of music , but I really enjoyed this.

  • dma crowd has no fukin metallica spirit

dam u ppl who like the new "metal" or "rock"

its just not like the S&M crowd

well, at least that years wienie roast was better than this years and the ones before

  • dude, i was at this concert

TRUST ME, we ALL had Metallica spirit...

    take my word for it

  • sounds like just the music audio with a bit of the crowd like some 1991 moscow cuts

  • screw you man.

  • kirk hammetts solo is a fucking face melter..

  • wherw are of bass

  • theyre still awesome all u guys who dont like them are prollky like 45 years old who are still stuck back in 1986 or 1983who are afraid of change....change is what makes metallica great

  • FUCK U U FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT!! mulletman is right this wasnt their est but theyre still one of the greatest bands in history. shut the fuck up u slipnot loving piece of shit.

  • Although they're old, they're still young in their hearts, don't ever forget that. Even if this wasn't their best performance, they can still do better in the future. They're not laughing stocks, they're REAL performers unlike some new bands today, those new bands only perform to get money in their hands, THEY'RE the laughing stocks, dude, but not every new band wanted to be rich, other bands did it for fun and entertainment just like the old bands.

  • what a shambles of a performance, bum notes at the solo`s, timing all over the place, bad vocals, awful backing vocals, retirement is calling!

  • you REALLY need to fix your hears

  • Id say his vocals are pretty good for his age. And what timings are out of place ?

  • it sounds funny because you're ONLY hearing the audio from the board... not the crowd.

  • Dude, I was there. The whole crowd was a giant mosh pit....the entire day was like build-up for them. It was great.

  • i think he makes the crowd sing when he runs out of breath, mettalica is a killer band there money just went to there head and they all converted to being jews

  • How about the old way when they just sing all of it and forget about the running out of breath?

I hate it when people get old..

  • Are you kidding? They've been doing this shit for almost 30 years; they're not "running out of breath." It's called crowd participation.

  • Um, listen a little bit better, he parctacly huffs and puff before making the crowd participate.

I'm not saying Metallica bad or anything.

  • This may be true, i didn't notice, but what i'm saying is he's been asking the crowd to participate the same exact way since the early 90s. It's not because he was out of breath or old, is my point.

  • Maybe things just changed...

  • if u listen to the rock and roll hall of fame version, you can hear how much struggles on the last sections of each verse because he sings it all

  • look around 2:30

i dont think that he runs out of breath

  • We he was sick during that, a cold or something.

  • Because he didn't have any warmup. That's the only reason why, trust me. A voice needs a lot of warmup before you can scream like that and sing notes throughout a whole song.

Plus don't forget that James is running around all over the stage all the time and it does get tiring moving your right hand so fast, running around and screaming.

  • kirk's solo is dead on accurate!! just like '85:)

  • massterr ;)

  • Lovely sound.

They turned up for the instruments!

    GREAT

  • PURE FUCKİN THRASH METAL!!!

  • 5:57 - 6:17 LOOK AT THE GREAT SPEED by Mr Hammet.

  • 0:06 - yeah mothafucker!!!

  • Comment removed

  • thats right ! xD

    James is just amazing!!!!

    0:48

    MAAAASTTTEEEERRR !!!!!

  • yepp

    nver mind dude!!

  • lol

  • 0:06 YEAH MOTHERFUKHER!!!!! metallica roxz!!!!

  • YEAH¡¡¡ MOTHERFUCKERS... XD

  • yeah!!! MASTER!!!!!!!!!

  • MASTER!!!!!!

  • i agrreee withxxmag12

  • i was here :D

    fucking AMAZING night man

  • el publico fome ni cantan jajaaja

  • james voice sounds really good in this.

  • Crowd*. hehe

  • Yeah, i was there and the crows sucked cause it was all punk fans. A shame too, cause this had to have been the greatest live performance from metallica in Years..no joke. MetallicA > All.

  • if you watch the live performance of this song in seattle 1989, Lars is really agressive. James still sounds like the james of old to me, just a little different, but nothing wrong with that

  • One of the best performances of this song I have ever seen....long live MetallicA!

  • MASTEEEEERRRR!!!!!!!!

  • i agree with you

james lost his voice and his violence within in the early 90's

  • i agree

  • yeah but I like how he sang in this performance. Metallicas new songs are not growly anymore.

  • all Lars has to do is make his bass drums sound more powerful and his drums will sound SO MUCH BETTER!

  • and playing more agressive with more force but i thik he plays like jamming all the time,,, its just that why he doesn't play like old days,,, and boring to get hurted or so tired because playing long double bass

  • Fantastic version of this song. Metallica rules.

  • Lars drumming was amazing and i was taken by suprise

  • what a beatiful song dude we love you metallica!!!

  • im a huge fan from the justice days and Im glad to see the boys back on top BUT, does it seem like they fell apart about 5 minutes in? I notice a few spots where they are off of eachother and they dont seem to care. at 6:30 they get way off... My 2 cents...

  • man, even though I prefer other bands to metallica, its still something fantastic to see a good rendition of Master of Puppets.

  • such a lazy crowd...

  • i know

  • lol laurs using double bass live wtf

  • MASTER OF PUPPETS reminds me about one person

    Cliff Burton

  • I always wonder why he changed the way he says "master" at the end of the first part of the song... right before the softer interlude or whatever you call it.. on the album, it sounded fine without the inflection at the end ("master-a")... there must be a reason.

  • wow.. the mix sounded pretty damn good here... seems like the guitars were a bit louder and more noticeable than normal... they should do this more.. yep.

  • put all the other videos of weenie roast

and if u got ozzfest2008 official videos put them up plz:D

  • Haha Hetfield in the beginning xD

I think hes saying: "yeah, motherfucker" or something like that!

  • EXELENT PERFORMANCE!

  • that "yeah mothafucka !" at the beginning means Metallica is back!

  • you know its good when it sends a chill down your spine XD

  • Ummh no he isnt.. You should be able hear/see that

  • Yea he is. All entire rhythm guitar parts are down picked throughout the song - including from 2:25 - 2:30

  • ... just listen at the second riff.....

and listen to the same riff on seattle 89!

    lol xD

  • yeh its amazing that boss riff yehhhhhhhhhhhh

  • awesome footage man! thx

  • 2:51 nice

  • James had a drink.

  • you guys who talks about the bassists, do NOT forget Cliff Burton

  • ¨°º¤„¸¸„ø¤º°¨¸„ø¤º°¨

    ¨°º¤ø„¸METALLICA ¸„ø¤º°¨

    ¸„ø¤º°¨ Forever!``°º¤ø„¸

    ¸„ø¤º°¨¸„ø¤º°¨¨°º¤ø„¸

    BRAZIL PORRA!

  • I can allmost hear that Lars had trained. :P NICE!

  • METALLICA RULEZ 4 EVER

  • i was there, on the feild, in the mosh pits, with fire in the middle, crazy night, flogging molly, pennywise, bad religion, offspring, and metallica

  • dude i was there too

    awesome night

    i remember those fires

  • FUCK!

no matter how many times i hear tht song, tht intro always kicks my ass.

  • shut up man rob will fuken kill jason......

  • im a huge metallica fan !

    but they are getting slower

    :(

  • Slower?! Stop eating the shrooms and then listen again, they have been playing the same speed for this song since at least 1994. The only time I noticed a slower speed of them playing was when they had the orchestra gigs.

  • Oh Yeah Mother Fuckerrrrr! jajaja James Rules man!

  • 5.35 - 5.48 the best proof to see, that jason newstead CAN NOT be replaced by this little pocahontas-replica.

rest of the song is awesome

  • What, singing is more important than good bass playing? I don't think so buddy! Rob is leaps and bounds over jason in way of talent, and if you don't agree than you must not be a musician.

  • ^^ I am, in fact I'm also a bassplayer (hit me up on IM if u like to, don't want to spam here anyway )

I'm not saying that singing is more important than playin' bass, but at that point in the video he fucked it up big time. neither I think that Rob's got more skills, but to argue who fits better in tallica, and who of both plays better, might end up like the oedipus thing ;)

  • "oedipus thing"....Nice reference, and I do see what you mean because as good as Rob is Jason did also fit the band well. \00/

  • lol ...

your right about jason , but remember jason left the band they didnt replace him

    jason is awesom at vocals

but rob its a great bass player

the just need that fusion between jason and rob......

    they need a JASON TRUJILLO

    LOL!!!

  • Awesome to see that he can sing again.

  • YEAH MOTHER FUCKERS!!! Ya'll seen James say it proudly!!!. Fly on the wall and The day that never comes are two kick ... songs off there new CD totaly cant wait to see it fully finished!

  • dude, the other song is called Cyanide, not Fly On the Wall hahaha! But yeah the album's gonna be good.

  • i was here. kroq weenie roast in irvine. the offspring opened for em. both great bands

  • Fuck yeah! This is the greatest band known to man! Master of Puppets is one of my favorites!

  • yeah
