Laptops tend to get warm since its being used. I would just let it rest, but butter is not the way to cool it off. But its laptop, what you expect.

I am *sure* I could melt butter on mine but I don't wanna try because I take the back cover off to keep it cooler :-)

Ok, mostly it's to shut up my noisy fan in hot weather

@Flybane If you take off the plastic cover off, the processor might get cooler, because of better airflow to the fan. But by removing cover you change the path that the air has to take to get to the fan, when the cover is on, air is flowing trough the insides of the pc and cools off other comnponents besides the heatsink. /

So even tho the CPU temp is lower, the other components might be overheating.
