Why do people have to compare skateboarding against snakeboarding? They are two different disciplines. Yes skateboarding takes more time to perfect,, is ultimately harder and requires more skill, but then Streetboarding has bigger air, requires biggr balls and is definately more dangerous! It's like saying snowboarding is sh*t because skiers can go alot faster....clearly this is a narrow minded view. Respect each each other for boarding.....don' fight amongst ourselves!

I ride strapless, much harder than skateboards, no comparison. I switched because skateboards started to get dull.

Sometimes I ride my Snake past some skate kids and they laugh, so I kick it up, and say "I try your board, you try mine." One kid always volunteers, usually can barely stand on it, can't move, falls over. Then I take his board and do an acid drop off the curb, a couple of tricks (which are for kids by the way) and then they shut up and ask me how long I've been riding.

@ackfill Not true. I've been riding for 15 years. The rider on a snakeboard is LOCKED in. He/she can't bail. This makes it way gnarly, because you have to COMMIT to every trick. And sometimes, seriously eat it in the process. And so it can be very intimidating to even try certain tricks.

I have been snakeboarding (aka pivotboarding, streetboarding) for 12 years & selling the boards for the past 7 years. And I can tell you that some aspects are harder & some aspects are easier than skateboarding,etc. It is simply DIFFERENT. Kick-push & you're moving on a skateboard. Pivotboards take time & patience, just to get the board moving. A skateboarder can BAIL if a trick goes wrong, a snakeboarder cannot. So,it takes more courage to COMMIT to learning a new trick on a pivotboard.
