  • @whisperinthesilence

Later you'll even stop listening to death metal. It happened so with me.

  • @whisperinthesilence

  • Never forget that the west used to run after deers but the east? East used to drink her tea with porcelain cups. Greetings from a Turk!

  • @babacondada i didnt know the east didnt go hunting for animals to eat.

  • @patchsonic What I said was just a saying as eastern literature though I have to answer you so the East used to go for hunting but didn't used run after deers as the west used to do before so now you know.

Well your answer easily admits what I said about the west lol

  • I heard this song in one of my dramas once, I can't remember which one though. Might be Red Cliff or Romance of the Three Kingdoms. But I love it! <3

  • WHERE DO I CAN BUY THIS INSTRUMENT???

  • how the heck do you know when its tuned right,,,these instruments are weird compared to Amercan stfufff

  • @Acting12abc American instruments aren't the only ones that have common tunings. -_-

    Wait, what's an American instrument??

  • @gdrugg2006 an American instrument is one that was created in America... before they invaded them and killed most of them ><

  • @gdrugg2006 Dj's/Turntablist use record players as instruments. Created by T.A. Edison 1877

  • @gdrugg2006 LOL

  • @gdrugg2006 lol

  • @gdrugg2006 since when is music a racial issue?

  • @gdrugg2006 Lapt Steel Guitar for example is an American instrument. Just sayin'.

  • @gdrugg2006 Banjo

  • @gdrugg2006 Electric Guitar. BTW why the sarcasim?

  • @PeterDad60 Yep, you're right about banjo. But electric guitar is still just a guitar, even if it has pickups and wires in it. We may have put those electronics in, but the origins of the guitar itself date back thousands of years. America, however, doesn't.

And why the sarcasm? Why not?

  • @gdrugg2006 I guess that's my point. That America does not date back thousands of years, so it's not fair to point out musical instrument history and say America has none, is it? Also guitars do not date back thousands of years. Perhaps you mean the father's of the guitar? Like Oud, lute, Pipa etc.

Lastly the modern Fender Stratocaster is a new developement in what a guitar is so it is in a new catagory and shall be correctly credited to an American creator.

  • @PeterDad60

Why you go on discussing about the American "History" (What a Joke!). ? the united states have no history. in germany we always say "What is the worlds thinnest book? American culture leader". Americans never had culture, they dont have any culture today and they will never have some culture in the future. this is a fact.

please respect this. accept, that america is a country build of money and refugees from europe. this is what america is and what american people are.

  • @1989WorldTraveler

You were the one who started talking about America not having a cultural history. I agreed, as how could a country founded in 1776 have a history prior to that date. I tried to point out that this is not a fair comparison and asked you why you would even make it.

Just because America was founded in 1776, this is not a reason to decry America or it's culture.

Your attitude is typical of some europeans and has gotten your peoples in serious trouble before. You have hatred.

  • @1989WorldTraveler You are really arrogent. A typical european trait. Your country - Germany, will soon be a land full of Mosq's and Muslems and that will be an improvement over the people of Germatic background.

  • @1989WorldTraveler Please say US Citizen or the USA, not American or America... Chileans, Argentinians, Brazilians, Mexicans, Cubans, etc. are also 'American'.

  • @1989WorldTraveler just to point out... So to you, the Native Americans mean nothing? And do you mean America, excluding South America in the equation? Yeah, then I guess you could cut out the Inkas as well. Americas culture didin't start when the Europeans came in to the picture. Well, not in my oppinnion. After all, a lot of countries count theyr history far beyond the time they got theyr "moder" names and were "discovered".Then Africas culture would be short as hell as well.

  • @gdrugg2006 A bass guitar?

  • @gdrugg2006 what about the Native American drums?

  • i see there more sound like Texas or mexico .

  • its ironic how the american wishes he was the samurai and the asian wishes he was the cowboy

  • Not because I dislike this person's playing ability but that sound that is created when you slide your fingers across this kind of string instrument, is there a way to play it without making that sound or is it just edited out of most recordings?

  • I want this! This is the instrument the blind man from "Hero" plays! :)))

  • Comment removed

  • es una "citara" de china

  • Does this piece have a name? maybe I have overlooked it

  • I want to learn this instrument!!!

Dear God i just want so bad!!!

  • this would be even better sounding with bronze slide.

  • @ilmanmuutajamuutilma I don't think the sound would fit the instrument anymore. I personally love the sound of it as it is!

  • I love the sound of this! great job and beautiful instrument.

  • very lovely

  • Beautiful!

  • SOUNDS LIKE BLUES TO ME

  • @nicolas2903 me too. its my belief that this instrument and style even are the grandfathers of steel guitar blues licks.

  • very beautiful.....could listen to you all day/night! very peaceful why so short?

  • Sounds like a guitar with more acoustic sound. i dont know if i worded that right...

  • @Kamagath : I'm actually thinking the same here, it doesn't sound like guzheng to me but more like that kind of American guitar lol, so yep it makes me think about ancient America too, with cowboys lol XD..! Thank goodness, all guzheng are not that bad (it doesn't makes me thing about China at all, sorry).

  • @Kamagath I would say more twang...

    Folky almost

  • yeah in the series romance of the three kingdoms, i heard zhuge liang playing it

  • i can hear 'you'll never leave harlan alive' in there .... fitting since in china mining is the scourge that made them slip into a soon to be worse one .. per present time unit (let's hope we won't let it get to worst overall .. but if we don't manage to 'fair' fighting and have warships operational instead of being carefully (but fully) recycled it might just make it there ... if the plastic and nukiez haven't turned us into aliens by then): E-waste

  • @poetpiet you r really lack of Entertainment Spirit, you should learn how to enjoy life. as a foreigner, you are thousands miles away and just read newspaper then you talk like you know everything well.....relax otherwise you may suffer mental problems....

  • 博大精深.....古人的胸襟和造诣真是望尘莫及

  • Chinese redneck style!!!

  • FREEBIRD!

  • 悦耳!悦心!赞!

  • Its looking like a piano where you play it like on a fiddle, and sound kinda like the combination of fiddle looking/sound and the piano :) This is the first time i see the instrument, what is it called? I'd like to learn something more about it :)

  • shit i wanna know how to play it too

  • Feels like i'm watching that fight scene in jet li's "hero"

    I approve..

  • i really need the name of this beautiful song <3

  • Sounds like plucking strings on a piece of wood to me.

  • if I had more thumbs, I would put them up. Played beautifully.

  • easy

  • Can't stop listening to this. I want to learn how to play the Guqin now ;_;

  • I remembered going to this Gu Qin solo concert in Hong Kong with my mother-in-law, half-way through 90% of the audience were snoring away.... towards the end, I was the only one trying to keep my eyes open!! It's really therapeutic for those who needs help with falling asleep!

  • music and food as well as women are matters of taste nothing is better than other.

  • Isn't that the instrument those two guys used in Kung Fu Hustle to cut that guys head off?

  • @RasecVonWizzlbang Sort of.... that was some sort of hybrid between a guqin, this, and a guzheng, though the soundtrack that plays during that scene is played on a guzheng. It's basically a 5 stringed guzheng.

  • anyone have any recommendations for other songs played with this instrument?

  • 墙里开花墙外香,想不到这里也有这个视频啊

  • guqin is a intangible heritage

  • you should apply to become a youtube partner you could easily get it!

  • 你會看減字譜嘛?

  • Beautiful! Please upload more vids of you playing. I'm love this sound and music.

  • my son was crying and i put this on about a few secs in he stoped i looked over and he was asleep haha thank you

  • this almost sounds like the song from manh le quan (tvb eternal happiness) 's zither music.

  • @sdjnwhyNZ Thank you!

  • what is the name of the song?

  • this is absolutely amazing... fantastic performance!

can anyone tell me what tuning this is played in??

  • @Freyjrid I think it's in C minor (natural).

  • Beautiful!

  • Where did this come from ? i want to travel to china one day, and my my fav, instrument !!! DX

  • Beautiful !!

  • and I forgot to say, it's a amazing performence. thanks for uploading.

  • I love 诸葛

  • This is very beautiful to listen to. The music is soft, gentle and carries a lot of strength in the notes. It's heavy, but very light at the same time.

    Wonderfully done :)

  • play lady gaga on it

  • @nemesisnick66 how dare you

  • what is this song that is being played? i must know

  • @applespelonker it's 卧龙吟(or 臥龍吟 in Trad. Chinese), literally meaning "The verse of a lying (as in position) dragon". Note that "the lying dragon" is actually denominating Zhuge Liang (诸葛亮), a very intelligent hermit, who later became an epic strategist and politician in the Shu (蜀) kingdom during the famous Three Kingdom Era (AD 220-280) of Chinese history.

  • @DieAlptraume wow thats awsome thanks

  • @DieAlptraume i know man i know everything of three kindoms my favourite is shu and i love zhao yun

  • @MyPhantom97 read the history of it, what happens in dynasty warriors actually is a huge insult to the real story

  • @applespelonker this music also has a story:the strategists of Shu-Zhu geliang had to guard an important city, but he didn't have any solders in the city because they were in other war filed, his enemy with 100 thousand solders already arrived, he open the entrance gate of city and played this music near the gate, the leader of enemy troops stop and listened the music, the music was clam and express the sense of confidence

  • @applespelonker , he thought there must be thousands of solders in the city and well prepared, it would be deadly for him to attack the city,so he asked his troop withdrew..this is very famous story is_空城计("Stratagem of the Empty City).zhu geliang defeated 100 thousand troop himself with his wisdom and courage.it is difficult to be so composure when thousands of enemy are in front of you but you dont have a solder....

  • That's just fantastic.

  • i love this kind of music

  • I would like to know the name of the qinren (guqin player) because I would like to hear him play again. He has a very tasteful non-compensatory romantic touch. He is very unlikely to have ever been scarred by anything - like threatened to be roasted or forced to jump out of the window...by one's father.

  • 原来广为流传的MP3版本卧龙吟 源自于此。。

  • This, I like....

  • I luv guqin sound!!! It gives me a relaxation feeling ever time i hear it -3

  • 卧龙吟

  • beautiful

  • Its like Valeriana...you take a pill and you sleep like a baby

I hear this piece before i go to sleep and i usually sleep to my computer's chair...lol ;D
