@camcham lol don't be an ass hat... it's a good cover, but at this level of playing, you can hardly say you 'dissected' any of the greats: that's what john mayer had to do to play it the way he does. you just got a tab off of guitar pro or a similar site and chipped away at it pretty diligently. it's the truth, and it's written all over your approach to the riffs lol

Take it slow so you can get everything (i mean that) absolutely perfect so you don't practice bad habits fast and screw you playing first.

the 2nd part of the solo...when he slows it down....he plucks it all until its explodes all over again. Gives the solo such a different sound when plucking that part instead of picking it. Either way, great cover of the solo. I wish i the time to sit down and learn it. :(

The beginning part of the solo is not too hard, just fast. It's the standard G-pentatonic scale where you start-

Bend note G5 two times and pull off to 3, then try out the "chuck berry-style" riff, then you'll figure out the first part :P

(After all, the whole solo is within major and minor pentatonic) I didn't use tabs but I did manage to find a tab that doesn't appear to shabby at first glance. Wow, super impressed. When the solo slows down, trying using your fingers and not your pick, noticed that you start to around 3:20 for the finger picking and stuff. It'd just sound alot softer, johnny uses his fingers once he sits down in that Any Given Thursday version. Check it out, good job though. Really great.
