  • Awesome job! :)

  • All young people like yourself that I see play the piano as well as you do have simply no feeling or expression. They look so disconnected and it comes out in the music being played too, you can hear it. However, you are just completely the opposite. You know exactly what you are doing, and I can see you really feel what you are playing, with your own style, you perfectly execute what the piece requires of you, and more. Truly a brilliant pianist.

  • I would love to hear you playing Revolutionary Étude (Étude Op. 10, No. 12)

    Greetings from Poland

  • perfect. george you rock.

  • The piano sound is really beautiful.

  • Wow - this sounds so effortless for which is a very difficult etude. I understand that even Horowitz, Rubinstein and Cherkassky found this study tricky. Well done George - keep up the hard work.

  • the combination of soft, quick and smooth string of tunes, very perfect of playing half octaves and octaves, you play flawless, George ! but why did some people say that the pedal stamping is rather bad ?

  • you prodigies never fail to make me jealous

  • Playing is good, but the usage of pedal is bad.

  • George, it it clear that you hold in your hand the 'keys' to your future; great job as always!!

  • brilliant playing this piece is so much more difficult than it sounds even, its abit like trying to do the washing up using only your forth and fifth fingers!

  • Good job relaxing your fingers and hand to play it well! Have you ever looked at Godowsky's study on this (does the chromatic scales in the left hand).

  • I liked the ending xD his facial expression is priceless .....AMAZING ETUDE

  • Hmm I was expecting something like this, but it's even better than I even imagined and that is your technique i mean! :) Just the right amount of movement to get it done!

  • 10********** Love Isis

  • bravo!!!!

  • Always love to hear you play George. You always brighten up my day.

  • 5 *****

  • Thank Geroge Le!!wonderful work!!!!!

  • Absolutely sick....

  • It's amazing that even George, with his natural ability, is challenged by this piece - a true testament to it's level of difficulty. His effort is nontheless formidable. The most clear recording of this piece I've heard to date is Pollini's. Sure, there are those who can play it much faster, but they lack clarity and precision, not to mention emotion. You have to have a tremendous amount of internal power to play this piece.

  • I think this may be the most impressive of all George's videos. Non-professional pianists watching this may not be aware of how difficult this piece is. Indeed I heard a high-level pianist say that this is the most difficult of all the Chopin studies, even more so than the G sharp minor, Op. 25 No. 6.

  • I learned this peace for 2 years and quited, it was so hard.

  • Amazing!!!

  • OMG I can't even play the first TWO bars at a low speed!!! Amazing!

  • Dominant pedal point 0:54 to 1:00 always gives me a delicious cold shudder down the back. It is possible to use the sosenuto pedal and help out with left hand. You did not, of course.

  • I liked the choreography at the end - the display of exhaustion and relief! Actually, of course, you had no problem at all in getting through this piece.

  • Awesome, George !!!! You sure pick the difficult ones. Most pianists won't touch this with a barge pole in public performance. Perfection !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • thak's again for your message, you have gold fingers!!!

  • OMG!........this little guy is DEFINITELY virtuoso

  • not bad, actually, even better than freddy kempt -- but still on the 'study' side... not enough music. Must be the piano's fault, since the little pianist seems to move in time and enjoy the piece.

  • Phantastisch, George Li! - Bravissimo! :-)

  • good job!

  • hurts my hands, and right under my elbow

  • Amazing!

  • By George, another masterful performance!

  • very expressive

  • Bravo.

  • He seems to listen himself! He speaks out with this music!

  • and you need the skills to perform music .

  • George, you played this one year ago today; you were already so great then! This is a fiendishly difficult etude; it is a toy in your hands! Bravo!

  • I recently got my hands on an electric piano which has to go back soon. I have been practising this one since and just when I thought I was doing ok, I come here and hear this version again. I just can't believe how simple you make it look. Such a difficult piece. I might get my version recorded and uploaded to youtube to give u something to laugh at :-P

  • Amazing, george!!

  • Much more fluent than your earlier version. This approaches perfection!

  • I would love you play the chopin revolutionary etude !

  • My teacher is playing.

  • your teacher ??

  • It was a compliment to George Li, which means that he's so good that I call him my teacher. (But he's actually not my teacher)

  • This is a wonderful rendition of this work. The challenge is to play chords in the right hand with chromatic scales using the 3rd, 4th and 5th fingers at the same time. By doing this smoothly and artistically, George shows that he has a flawless technique and a formidable sense of style - and at such an early age of 13! He is a true phenomenon. My prayer is that he will establish himself as an outstanding virtuoso pianist of his generation.

    God bless

  • true, unlike others kid on youtube thqat play he plays with passion which means he enjoys it unlike other kids pushed to play it he is truely tsalented the next big pianist like Alfred Brendel, Arthure Rubiestein, etc.

  • @concerto35 We heard him today in recital on Miami Beach were simply astounded at his technique and sensitive interpretations. :)

  • wow good job man

  • This kid has got what it takes to make it. Keep up the great work!

  • madonna che bestia!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • WONDERFULLLLLLL!!! :-)

  • wow... he memorized it on his 2nd try!

  • This etude is such a pain to get up to a quick speed, and you do so well with it!!

    Nice work!

  • This is even better than your first try, which has already been a phenomenon!

  • You are the awesomest piano player I have seen that is not a teen yet!!!!!

  • great job!! Bravo

  • Bravissimo Pianoloverok!!! continua cosi per sempre!! vale per tutti i videi. DA MATTALEM

  • very good! thanks for your sharing

  • Brilliant,Bravissimo!!!

    ciao george

  • a chromatic scale with 3-4 and 5th finger..Don't play that too much. It could be dangerous for your hands.Bravo !

  • you will become a great pianist! bravissimo!

  • Bravo, George! It's excellent!

    Maja

  • Bravo: when you no longer feel it is for study, the challenge is met... Remember Cortot: Rachmanonoff found him too musical in his études, but I like them this way and you come very close, moving beyond technicalities.

  • Brilliant. You make a very difficult etude seem so easy! And very musical performance.

  • for a moment it seemed to be hearing Alfred Cortot.

  • Thanks You!

  • Ole y Ole!!

  • 2 thumbs up! Well done! ~NH

  • Fantastic!!!

  • Bravo Lovely! A pleasure to hear! Have a great week George you bring such lovely music to YouTube! Thank you for sharing your love and wonderful talent! Chopin is a favorite of mine! your friend, Dallis

  • Yes, the RH is quite good. However, his LH is very well done--supportive and musical. Keep up the good work. There is refinement and musicality and great talent here.

  • Nicely played! :) I wish there was a camera angle where you could see the 3rds, etc. also played with the right hand. :P (Ie. both right-hand parts.)

  • Your fingers are absolutely magic!

    Best,

    Duke

  • good job!keep working!

  • Truely good boy !! !

  • La difficulté devient facilité, sous vos doigt.Jouer une des études de Chopin, la plus ardue, en ayant l'air de s'amuser: il faut s'appeler George, pour réaliser un tel exploit.

  • wonderful!

  • Fantastic George! One of the more difficult Chopin Etudes. I've practised this piece for years and still cant play it as fast as you do!

  • This is such a technical difficult piece and you play it so well. Bravo, 5 stars!

  • Love your play very much George

  • very nice! bravo

  • George, I like your playing very much !

  • Hi George...still going strong! Bravo!

    Ulf Sawert

  • not bad George, I liked to mid section ralledando...I am sure in years to come , when you 20, it would even matured more.. Bravo to you.

    Cheers from Australia.

  • George, what can I say? Just brilliant!

    :)

  • I'm learning the opus 10 no1 at the moment, then I'd like to learn this one, that you play so well.

  • Bravo!!

  • Wow! That is so hard. I wonder why you chose that etude. Good job!

  • Does the playing of a Chopin etude get any better than this? What a right hand study!

  • I love it.

    Thanks for sharing...

    George R.

  • always the best.

  • Is beautiful!, thanks George for sendeng me, have a nice Tuesday too.

    Your friend

    Santi

    5*****

  • A+, as usual..you are the man

  • You give a whole new meaning to the phrase, "Tickle the ivories" Brilliantly done George. I love to watch you play as much as I enjoy hearing it. Thanks for sharing your talent.

  • As you often say to other pianists: You are greaaat!!!!!

  • Amazing! You must have some crazy technique to do this~ I can't even play it slowly ( i guess it's harder if you play it note by note). Really well done! I love 45 seconds in.

  • Very crip rendition of this Etude, it´s not one of the hardest of the set, but still challenging enough that I can´t play it yet. Chapeau.

  • Love the way you play this piece! Bravo!

  • Much, much better than the first try!

  • Fantastic job young man!

    Wendy

  • It never ceases to amaze me how easy you make this piece look. excellent as ever! Thanks for sharing.
