A big rule of composition is that you just don't split into 3 parts when there's room for expansion. Like, when the sopranos split into 3 parts. IMO, you could've given the D to the tenors and put the Altos on G and 3rd sopranos' B to have a really full G major chord.
It seems like all of "Composition Classes" in today's colleges are teaching this to their students. What a shame, as there will be a lot of jobless student composition graduates.
Well as a choir director looking for music I must say this would sound better if you would make the words sound a little more clearer. But there is a good side about you, thanks for teaching me how to conduct in 6/4 time.
also, you end with the soprano singing the 5th. the 5th isn't as secure. so the melody (soprano) is probably better off ending on the root or 3rd. G or B. can't wait to hear more from you!
pretty cool. may i suggest ending in root position? basses with a G. also, all those F naturals are a pretty cool way to modulate to C. but i think if you really wanna end nice, you can put those F naturals in. but none of the F's go to E's! 7th's must resolve down by step, and idk if you wanted to use it as a 7th, but try this. since you have F naturals, try this. I. [V7/IV] IV. (play around in C, then) V7 I. that V7 in G (D, F#, A, C) is a pretty secure way to go back to G. good luck!
its sounds like that because it is on a composing program on the computor encore or sibalius maybe and thats just the general computor sound that it gives out for notes
Opening is very similar to Ernani Aguiar's "Salmo 150" & [meas.3-4] chord changes from Alex North's "The Robe" ; end of phrases [meas 5] recall some Keith Green songs. Letter C Section is highly reminiscent of the middle section of Jean Berger's "Speak to One Another". Not saying there is anything wrong, just nothing especially new. Would recommend writing a piano accompaniment that would offer some give and take, adding more texture vis a vis the choral lines. I bet this would improve things.
Please consign that one to the rubbish bin. I'm not complaining about the piece itself, but what an awful cacophony of a rendition. Very unpleasant on the ear. Any chance of hearing the real thing?
Not bad. I am a composition minor in my first year of college, and it's not bad. I do agree with mdeaves2012 in that it gets a bit repeated at times. I like the way you had the basses inverted, but if you read the rules of theory, you'll find that on the last chord of any piece, you cannot have an inverted chord. Very good job over all though.
That isn't true! Many pieces end with the 5th in the bass, take C.V Stanford's Nunc in G for example, which gives the cadence a somewhat incomplete quality.

It's a catchy little piece - I like it. The sound here is terrible and I would like to hear it with real voices, but overall, I think it works.

I think I just wasted 2 mins of my life, but I like the song, I'm singing it in my choir class

musically I don't think this is as awful as everyone says, but the sound quality is dire.
