It's amazing that a person in his situation is interested in the global awards. It shows you what the human mind is capable of. Not looking at his own situation as that bad or maybe mentioning it to distract himself from his life. You given him the attention that all humans need. I will thank you for him.
I lived in that RV before I gave it to the old man. It had two vehicle batteries in it, one a deep cycle marine battery and a converter. It also had about 200 feet of heavy duty extention chord for plugging in to unguarded electric plugs to recharge the batteries. I used to plug into the unused second socket behind outdoor vending machines.
I feel bad for old man Don. I'm impressed with his spirit of survival, living in a candle lit RV in the gritty streets of LA next to an airport. God bless whatever motivates him! I hope the three grand includes dentures...
Yeah. Most of those other vehicles you saw in this video had people living in them, so it was a sort of wheeled community, a gypsy caravan. Eventually, the cops impounded this RV, too.
In the last scene, where he holds the candles up, he reminds me of the dad in Fiddle on the Roof. Speaking of LIT candles, it doesn't seem like a GOOD idea in a car or vehicle--kinda dangerous?!

Is he still in L.A. as far as you know?

Ahyup. They told me last year that he had died, but I resurrected him during my train documentary (50-part series) several months ago.

That left a smile on my face. Is this sort of an ok safe area where the RV's parked?

Those tasers need to get financed in some way I reckon.

That's what I like about the old barrister. He's as unsinkable as Molly Brown.
