  • Netherlands and Luxembourg has almost the same flags

  • @DelRio699 Almost, we (the Netherlands) have a darker blue!

  • @Luuk401

And we have a bit darker red.

  • First of all, this anthem is called DE WILHELMUS (this Wilhelmus ISN'T the DUTCH ONE, it is from the Luxembourgian Royalty) and it is the ROYAL ANTHEM of Luxembourg not the NATIONAL ANTHEM, the national anthem is ONS HEEMECHT. The Dutch national anthem is called HET WILHELMUS it is totally different, so stop with the idiot comments.

  • This is not the Antheme of Luxemburg, the Antheme of Luxemburg is called Ons Heemecht. Your song is the Wilhelmus, an theme out of the times when the Netherlands ruled in Luxemburg( Wilhelmus1)

  • @LetzebuergerPatriot You are confusing your own country's 2 anthems as well as the Dutch National Anthem. The NATIONAL Anthem of Luxembourg is Ons Heemecht; the ROYAL Anthem of Luxembourg is De Wilhelmus which is NOT the same as the Dutch National Anthem Het Wilhemus. It even says so not only on Wikipedia but also the Luxembourg Government's official information (a 122-page booklet in pdf form) on the Grand Ducal Family.

  • @wr1830 right, lux. wilhelmus is the royal anthem of the royal family

  • There are so many countries sharing the melody in their national anthems, cool down.

  • Guyana is the only South American country that criminalizes male homosexual relations (with penalties from two years' imprisonment and life imprisonment) The Society Against Sexual Orientation Discrimination (SASOD) has urged the government to repeal the discriminatory colonial-era law. Let us raise the voice of protest to repeal the law for homophobic in Guyana! (Not supported immorality, is supported gay rights in the world)

Zwee Kinnékskanner, déi trei sech léif,

    koumen ausenaaner, wäit an déif.

Zwee Kinnékskanner, déi trei sech léif,

hu gebaangt, op d'Gléck nach bléie géif.

Haut weisen si der ganzer Welt

    an engem Feld

    d'Goldlilie mat dem roude Krouneléif.

Haut steet ëm si voll Freed, Hand an Hand,

    d'Vollék vun dem Lëtzebuerger Land.

Nun as verbäi de Stuurm, d'Nout as aus,

d'Menschheet trëtt erléist an d'Liicht eraus.

Nun as verbäi de Stuurm, d'Nout as aus:

Lëtzebuerg bleift Här am eegnen Haus.

Den Himmel huet no laanger Nuecht

    d'neit Freijor bruecht

a rëscht all Dir mat grénger Friddensstrauss.

Lo steet erem sou frou, Hand an Hand,

Grouss a Kleng am Lëtzebuerger Land.

Mir hun a schwéirer Zäit Trei bekannt,

't gong fir d'Fräiheet an et gong fir d'Land.

Mir hun a schwéirer Zäit Trei bekannt,

    d'Eier agesat zum Ënnerpand.

A wann eng nei Gefor en dreet,

    mir si bereet,

mir haale nees mat Häärz a Wëlle stand.

Da steet rem staark a stolz, Hand an Hand,

    d'Vollék vun dem Lëtzebuerger Land.

  • So beautiful. Does it have lyrics too?

  • You could throw a rock across Luxembourg!

  • It can't be the Royal anthem! Luxemburg ist a grand duchy not a kingdom!

  • @juhuruhu The Grand Duke and his family is styled with "Royal Highness" so the anthem is that of a Royal household. He is a monarch who is the head of state in his country, just like Kings and Queens and Sovereign Princes.

  • Thank God that finally some country has it's only royal anthem and not using the UK version as Nordic countries.

  • The Netherlands has it's own national anthem as well, it's the oldest national anthem in the world.

Our flag is also the oldest tricolor flag in the world.

  • I share my birth date with Princess Alexandra :D

  • este es el ons hemecht? / that is ons hemecht

  • Nope, this is the "tune" they play when the Grand Duke shows up.

Ons Heemecht is the national anthem.

  • In fact this used to one of the versions of the Wilhelmus, the sog that would become the Dutch antehm in 1932 (be it to another, more austere tone).

  • As far as I know this royal (or Grand-ducal?) anthem is called "Die Wilhelmus" (just like the Dutch national anthem, only than "het Wilhemus". The Grand-Ducal family of Luxemburg and the Royal Family of the Netherlands are related. Their ancestors were the princes of Nassau

  • Who cares it's Dutch or Luxembourgish..

Today it's Luxembourgish and i'm fine with it.

    Greetings from a Dutchman

  • @DennisKayleigh its luxembourgisch :)

  • @gustaaf66 no, is called "De Wilhelmus·

  • Thanks for the info.

  • Cheers buddy

  • I love you Luxembourg :). From a fan of your country in Sydney, Australia
