Works like a charm

Instead of clicking restore, I clicked update, so I didn't have to lose everything

Though it did change the language to Hebrew afterwards haha

But otherwise worked perfectly

Your fucked dude. =( i had that same error but luckily one of my uncles works at geek squad (LOLxD) and he knows a couple of guys who fix these sorts of things, so i got it fixed for free even tho i voided the warranty (trying to like jialbreak n stuff)

Now, if i do everything you said in the video, and it works and wipes everything out, how do i get all my saved apps and stuff i synced back onto my ipod touch which is now 3.0 and have it just like before?! :D PLEASE ANSWER!! :D

the apps that you sync are in itunes always. if u synced them into itunes

be sure that you downloaded the correct file, if you have a 2g IPOD, get the 2g download, and its the same for the others. ya, and save the file, dont have the settings to open file after its done downloading.

If you back it up with 2.2.1 then restore when you put it on 3.0, doesn't it go back to 2.2.1? Or does it just restore setting, music, apps etc?

When i hit that stage, I didnt choose the backup option, i just renamed it and then after that it asked me if i wanted to sync all my movies, music and pictures back on.

i need help.when i download the file it downloads as a compressed folder on xp. and when i extract it and go in to itunes and do the shift +restore. it comes up as a folder and when i highlight it. and click open it shows more folders of the folders directory...I NEED HELP!
