The best biofuels come from plants with a high cellulose content (ie. sugarcane, switchgrass, and hemp). Biodiesel made from hemp seed oil is 80 to 90% cleaner than regular diesel with the same energy output. Brazil has a biofuel industry around sugarcane that could sustain them if the oil industry were to somehow crash. Sugarcane however, only grows in high-humidity climate. What high cellulose plant grows nearly anywhere on the planet? Hemp. And as you say, "It's great for material uses."

Also, are you aware of the difference between LowSulfurDiesel, and UltraLowSulfurDiesel?

LSD and ULSD fuel is still petroleum. We need an alternative to oil. Biofuel has no sulfur. I think corn is horrible as a fuel and food source. Sugarcane makes the better biofuel but it has limited growing potential and can't be used in as many places as hemp. I agree that it will change who gets profits but that is sometimes a product of progress.

Actually it has very small ammounts, comparable or slightly higher than ULSD.

Yeah, I'm not a very big fan of Khosla.

He often finds something which is blatently wrong, and then puts it on a loudspeaker.

Brazil for instance gets almost all of their liquid fuel from petroleum. Khosla tries to say the exact opposite.
