I wept when i watched him on letterman. he looked pretty grim. glad he recovered. If you ever watch Wall Street the anger that Michael Douglas shows as Gekko is from Stone basically slapping him around. Douglas was an experienced actor from TV and to have Stone walk into his trailer and ask him "are you doing drugs, you look like you haven't acted before." would have been a shock. The Gekko we saw recently was a poor shadow of the 1987 one. The way he threatened to rip his staff's eyeballs out and suck their fucking skulls was a classic line.
