I hope one day I can understand my father's pain. As he gets older (61 yesterday) he becomes more isolated. I hurt for him deeply, his isolation seems at its worst as my brother is in Iraq now and with every deployment my brother goes on it is hell for my father.
@1105196 i feel deeply for you your brother and your father for the pain your father is and has experienced and the pain that you and your brother may be feeling.

@katana258 lol nice can't say I remember Vietnam but I remember Iraq. Was in Ramadi definitely kept you on your toes. Was quite a display better than any video game when the insurgents pissed us off. Overwhelming force lifting off and you hear nothing but hellfires 50 cals and the Artillery booming away. Really is quite a sight to see and the feeling of being in the middle of it all much more intense and adrenaline packed than anyone can get from a game.
@Twizztednights81 was trying to look at the + ...every ones war was fucked up by them that ran it... i replyed on your site ,shame you did not have napalm lots of color for longer time..makes them dance to the tunes for sure...keep your powder dry..
@katana258 Oh yeah definitely. There are always positives. Enjoy the little things. I would have liked to see the napalm drop but was before my time. I remember a night insurgents started to mortar the camp, had Apaches and Blackhawks go up immediately watching them raining fire was a beautiful sight. Sounds a bit evil but there is nothing in this world more awe inspiring when you see firepower going to work. Get the lawnchair out and watch the fireworks.

@Buddyfun What we need is to re-institute draft. When you have an all-volunteer army, the civilian and military leadership tend to think in terms of "you signed up for this." Having a draft would force us to re-think our military doctrine.
I agree with you to a point. If the draft was brought back I fear it would just cause most of these yellow-bellied liberal faggots to run to Canada again.
I know I'm not American and I'm not a soldiers, but I think I can feel the atmosphere when this war was started. I know they want to do the right thing but usually people (other people) hate it when it's already done. For that I blame the politician for sending them too Nam. I just wanna say, Thank you soldier of Nam vet., you done more than enough.
@Herbymac0811 u did what ?? man guess you are reading some book called "we americans are the best nation on the world" or somthing?? well the rest of the world reads books where u did more bad then good, should i name you some for you, coz i see you have the wrong "book" buddy and I DO UNDERSTAND that all of you, ALL of you are just simple war junkies
@Herbymac0811 : Well man im not arguing with you , just having a debate ! and like i see, u are the one who are pathetic and childish, you didnt give me no constructive answer or sentance, so OK be like u wanna be, you are just proving my point buddy !! Enjoy and Cheers !
@Herbymac0811 but see you cant just single him out as European, because hes right, most of the world hates america. i personally dont think it right to hate a country as a whole, but i choose to hate your government and intelligence systems because of the way it is structured, and because of what it does to other countries in the name of furthering americas interests. you say america has done more good than bad, but do you have any idea how many lives agencies like the cia have ruined?
@dgabbless Sure I can. He was an ass to me, so I was ass to him. The answer to this comment is failrly simple. As peace loveing a kind as the people of the world like to think they are... we aren't. The one thing any world leader knows is that if you have enough money and guns then you have a say in how the world works.
Money is what makes it go round, and guns control it. Alot of people get cought in the middle, it's sad but thats the way it is
@dgabbless Many european nations did the same thing all over asia, and in africa in the 1800's and early 1900's, russia has don eit all over the world, rouge nations still do it today. The people of the world realy have no effect on how it's run, the government however are the ones to draw the lines and spend the money and start the wars, and the redraw the lines. As kids we are tought violince isnt the answer when in the real world might makes right.
@Herbymac0811 thats a weak assed argument, oh other nations have done it so its a okay. this is sounding less like you think that america has done more good than bad and more like you acknowledge that the government is fucking over everyone else but you are okay with it.
@dgabbless I'm not saying its ok becouse others have done it. I'm just saying thats the way it is. Weather you, I, or anyone else agree's or disagree's on if it's right or not it won't matter. Yes the US has gone into some places for it's own gain, and sometimes it realy goes in to actually help out. So has every other major power in the world and we all still do it. The US has done alot of good, but it has also made a mess in more than one place.
@Herbymac0811 wrong, if enough people get pissed off about it, they WILL stop, or at least stop it enough that the media wont know about it, but hey thats better than nothing. also, the US never goes to war just to help people out, sure they've sent peacekeeping missions for the UN, but never gone to war. this does goes some way, but not even NEARLY far enough to counter the amount of shit they pile on
@dgabbless Nice try but no. NK, Iran, etc, etc. They work to destablize parts of the world for their own gain. The dont help in peace keeping missions, they contribute nothing to the enternational comunity, couse unrest and worry to the rest of the world, etc, etc. These are rouge nations. The US isn't perfect, nothing is. But I'd rather liver here than anywhere else in the world !
@Herbymac0811 fair enough, i'd also prefer to live here in aus than anywhere else, although thats helped by the fact that just about anywhere else (apart from places like southern france or us) that have comparable standards of living are f-ing cold.
@dgabbless It is in front France,Germany,UK,Spain,Portugal,Australia only countries that are in front of the USA are Norway,Sweden and Luxembourg and Denmark
@vanny3331 whered you get that? according to UNDP, the USA is 12th out of 30 countries in the human development index. australia, germany, canada are all higher up the list.
@dgabbless here is the link, australia is better ranked then the USA,but Germany France, the UK are not. Australia is a great country by the way,i made a mistake in my previous comment Australia is better ranked then the USA
@vanny3331 ah, my bad i was looking at the IHDI list instead of the HDI. so you were right in americans having good standards of living, but unfortunately the pretty big difference in HDI and IHDI means there is a large gap between the rich and the poor. it looks like there are roughly ten countries in the top 30 ranked HDI that have this problem. south korea being the worst with data available.
@dgabbless Well it is good to live in the USA hhehe,at least it is better then Europe. But Australia was even ranked number 1 two years ago,i watched documentray about Australia couple of months ago,and i can only say great country. I notice that you have low crime rate, and people are very happy, hope I ll visit Australia some day. Best wishes!
I have an uncle that did two tours. I did one tour in Iraq, up untill I got home he never once talked about his time in Nam. We ended up talking one day and both ended up crying, him more than me, he just let it all go, and I undestood. He had carried it around with him this whole time. He finaly got it off his back. He's told me he's wanted to tell some one for so long but was afraid too, but felt safe with me becouse I'd seen the same monster.
@Herbymac0811 i bet most of the grunts in th us military know the reasons behind the war they fight, unless you are some chicken shit nsa/cia/politician spook you probably dont know the reasons for going into a war. you think the grunts in the bay of pigs invasion understood exactly what in the hell they were doing?
@dgabbless everyone has the right to question the political reasons for going to war. No one has the right to questons a mans right to fight, his reasons are his own, if any one finds out it will be the man to his left or right in the trench with him.
@Herbymac0811 that was supposed to be "i bet most of the grunts in the us military dont* know the reasons behind the wars they fight". and yes i sure fucking do have the right to question a mans right to fight. should a man have the right to kill for money? should a government have the right to order people to kill for money? yes i know a lot of soldiers fight because they are soldiers, and they follow orders, what i am trying to point out that its not the weapon, but the system that is immoral.
