They're pretty much all the same idea. But basically its different bachelors/bachelorettes, towns, people, events, etc. Usually not too many differences except maybe more features or something. I still like to get different ones though.

I used the Japanese games before the game was released. The names change sometimes when they translate to the English version, so I DO have the game and I made this BEFORE the game came out. :)

To get the fishing rod, you need to have 2000 Friendship Points with Taro by giving him gifts and talking to him everyday.

When starting out, you can rake in money by shipping grasses, flowers, and seaweed from the beach. Also, plant tons of crops and ship every fish you catch.
