Tom ran for around, if not over 900 yards as our Fullback in 1985. Plus had quite a few receiving yards. And that was in an offense that boasted Doug DuBose as the Huskers feature runner at I-back. Paul Miles had quite a few yards as his alternate as well. Doug had around 1,300 yards that season.
Most of the NCAA realized the forward pass was legal in the late 19th century or early 20th... It only took Nebraska about another century to figure out the passing game was there to stay haha
Not that sticking to the ground really seemed to work out too badly for them
Used to hate hitting his ass in practice. Broderick Thomas didn't bring it no where near the likes of Tom. Man did he fuck my back up. Shit still hurts.
Rathman was one of the best, if not the best, fullbacks to play in the NFL. Complete package: blocking, running, catching and best of all, he always ran upfield and not out of bounds.
Wow, thanks for putting this up. Rathman is one of my all-time favorite NFL players but I don't remember seeing him play college ball back in the day.

on his second run instead of trying to juke should have just lowered his shoulder.

cant wait to see a fullback to get 10 runs and about 8 catches just think the fullback can be a great weapons if they used them right.

Rathman's NFL Stats don't tell the true story. He was an amazing blocker and most of his runs were on short yardage situations.
