I haven't fully tested it, but I think your infantry range actually increases while garrisoned. Just put maybe a few peacekeepers in there with her, build up turrets nearby, have the cryocopters keep watch for tanks, and you won't have anything to worry about. She will simply slaughter that wave of infantry that you see looming over your base at the start. I also like to go with 10 javelins for defense against any armor that may come from the West.

I found putting Tanya in the building near the base of the mountain helped in base defense.  Putting the cryo copters near there to then freeze tanks for her to shatter also worked.

I didn't know how effective Tanya would be in buildings. Thanks for the input!

You're doing way better than the other guy who was doing medium. His playthrough had only one destroyer living. He also lucked out by having no infantry force descending on his base.
