@smileyowner ace attorney games are 64 mb (gameboy's limit), so when you pack a game with a lot of sprites, music, 3d objects, then it's impossible to put high quality mp3 files in the games, however, 3ds will be able to easily handle mp3, so we can listen to some hardcore orchestra in ace attorney vs layton :D

@tomol6 To be honest, 64MB is not the limit. i have seen games be upto 256 MB.

The only limit the nintendo DS has, is the 4mb RAM limit. By loading and unloading these ''sprites'' and ''backgrounds'' you can practically make unlimited combinations.

MP3 is already used in many homebrew games. maybe it is a bit lower quality, but it sounds very good to me. wwwDOTds-sceneDOTnet/?s=viewto­pic&nid=9659 << I made this, all music in it is actually MP3 files. :) replace DOT with ''.'' .

@tomol6 True, I do not see why though. Maybe it's a cost/popularity rate of the game? Lower game size = more profit? I find it saddening that they hold out on music.  If it is worth to let an orchestra play this, Then it is worth the extra 64MB file size.

You know, I could easily imagine this as a Final Fantasy battle theme. The intro is very similar and has the same beat and tempo as the classic FF battle opening. The rest of the song (starting at 0:38, which incidentally reminds me of Wild Arms) has a structure very reminiscent of FF9's battle theme, again same beat, similar base, and a similar build up to the "chorus" which also has similar chords.

It's even more fitting when you consider that this plays during PW's equivalent of battles. :)

A really short little blip when you run into an enemy, then the guitars start while it transitions into the battle scene, and by the time the synths come in you're picking your moves.
