Is mister tony he good yes always. Knew him some time seventies, some of eighties. Akways kind to myself and other family. Nice man. Kind to everyone. Much talent. Sad he gone, always like his movies. He legend sure.
GocoProductions .. you have had good luck, was a great actor and person that you smile .. We will be much missed his smile... never forget you Mr. Tony Curtis .. Thank you for your art...
I met Mr. Curtis a few months back at the TCM Film Festival: I was sitting alone in the Blossom Room at the Roosevelt Hotel, I stretched out my arm and someone seemed to have firmly grasped it. It was Mr. Curtis being wheeled in to the room in a wheelchair. He held on to my hand, gave a smile and continued on. I will never forget that fleeting smile.
It was summer of 1973 that Tony Curtis came to Tehran - PERSIA(Iran).
With my brother 14 and me 17 we went to see him and his movie to be released in Tehran's Opera House( Taalaar Rudaki ).
In the Hall people were gathered, he was standing spread, I made I contact and hit that I wanna have his autograph, Tony smiled and asked me to approach.
After a short greeting he signed and padded my shoulder with smile.
He and Roger Moore were my to role model to pick up girls.
This one hurt. I grew up loving his movies, his style, his attitude, he was real and that mix of class and real toughness when he needed to be tough. I admire that edge, that brave quality to say like it was, to rise above just being an "actor". No one like Tony, a one of a kind!
How can anyone not like Tony C? He wasn't really a great actor, although in addition to Sweet Smell/Some Like It/Defiant and the others already mentioned he was also pretty good in the Boston Strangler, but he remained a very cool, open minded, intellectually sharp guy who also knew a lot about Holywood and shared his knowledge as often as he was asked. He also seemed forever young and that's how I'll remember him. RIP BERNIE aka TONY!!!
