  • Sweet Amerylus... Your journey has molded your for your greater good and it has been exactly what needed to be. Like you said, you haven't lost time... You've learned a lot in the process. You are a great example for us all in the patience department! Having dealt with thyroid issues for many years, I know the battle your body is fighting and want to say the 50+ pounds you have lost is an amazing accomplishment. Continue to hang in there and be strong in your faith for your future health. Hugs!

  • Thank you so much for the update! You have a lot on your plate right now! I have never met a stronger person than you! I know that it all still hurts you, but you just keep trucking along! I am so happy to hear that they are on top of all of the tests. Congratulations on getting back below pre-diabetic! That is a huge deal! You are working so hard at this! I hope that they get it all figured out soon, and that are on your way to losing weight in no time at all! Keep making those updates

  • I am so rooting for you & the green light for your surgery!! I also must admit being fighting mad with your Dr.s because I thgt they were using stall tactics & excuses ;+) however, now, I'm fully aware with this Vid the extremities you are actually dealing with. I will continue to keep you in prayer, best wishes!!

  • I too found out about a few health problems that were going on in my body that I had no idea were there and I know that had I not been getting so many tests done preop I still would not know. So regardless of which path you choose at least you are informed. You have been doing well losing on your own, but I know you'll do even better after surgery. I don't know what God has in store for you but I wish u much success in all u do. You are always in my prayers and will continue to be.

  • I am praying that this all comes together in the way that is best for your body my friend God knows what is in the future for you...I love to see your strength and your faith ..i needed to hear this information thank you for sharing and educating us...love and big hugs my friend again keeping you in prayer...love rosemary

  • I just seen the last half of your video. My heart goes out to you; but seem to be handling all of it very well. From what I understand about BMIs and wls is once the BMI is above a certain number, you automatically qualify for wls without having to have a weight-related illness. If the bmi is below 40, then you have to have a qualifying illness to have wls. Girl, I wish you much success in all this.

  • Your video was very informative. You told me things I didn't know; like it takes 3,500 calories to make a lb; wow. I should probably keep my two-sense out of this but I think you should still go for the surgery. You already know what you want & its been your goal and determination for a long time now. I realize fixing the thyroid would help, but truthfully, like most of us, theres plenty of other reasons why we're all over weight and need that tool for extra help. Wishing the best for you.

  • I understand exactly what you are going through, prior to my surgery, I couldn't lose more than 5 lbs. I suffered with PCOS and it was extremely difficult to lose. This surgery saved my life. You are so Positive and caring, You are always so happy for other people. I will keep you in prayer and hopefully everything will start to look up for you real soon! You are a great part of this community! God Bless...

  • I pray that the new issues are resolved and it leads to a conclusion. I know that there is a blessing to be had from weight loss surgery. You are finding out about how your body works or fails to work. I know that thyroid issues are part of many people failing to lose weight.

I often struggled to lose and seemingly reduce caloric intake and find that we are not losing.

It would happen so often that it frustrated me. I was eating half of what I had eaten in the past and less. Blessings in 2012!

  • You are super positive! You are really educate me and we are so similar with the slow weight gain and I guess my thyroid is an issue. I have full diabetes and have been on insulin for over two years...I bypassed the oral meds straight to insulin; very scary! I still hope you can have the surgery...its like doctors want to try everything but the solution. I know the anesthia is super important but I pray that all things get well for your surgery! Thanks for sharing!
