I love the look of half-ups, but my problem with doing them is that my hair is mostly curly on the top layer and the curls are just kind of stretched out on the bottom layers, so when I pull the pretty curly part back it looks kind of bad. Any advice for getting the bottom to curl better? Or should I do half-ups when it's wet so the bottom layer has a better chance to curl without being weighed down?
@earlynovemberlove Yes, definitely see how the bottom layer dries on its own. What you could also do is do the style dry, and then spritz in a little water and spray gel and scrunch up the curls. hth :)
I love your videos! I'm a "new" curly - I've straightened my hair for years, and now am trying out leaving my curls in! Question on these styles - when you're fixing your hair like this, should your hair be wet or dry? Or does it matter? Thanks!
I liked all three of the styles! I'm probably going to wear the third one most often (once my hair grows out).
quick question: Will my curls become a little tamer/weighted down if I grow my hair out? It's just at the top of my shoulders now and I still get what I call "triangle" shaped hair. Any suggestions, or will I just have to wait for it to grow?
@ilysarbear growing your hair out will definitely weight your hair down, but there is also stuff you can do now. how do you part your hair? side parts are usually better than middle parts. also a haircut with long layers will help--is your hair all one length? and lastly, it's important to use lots of moisture and heavy products when you style your hair if you want to weigh it down. hope that helps! i use to have triangle shaped hair when i first started taking care of my curls.
Hi Sarah, Thanks for the great tutorial, I love your videos, what mascara are you using in this video, your eyelashes look amazing in your intro picture...keep the great vids coming! Thanks! =)
@ColombianaXO7 i have no idea honestly. the most important thing is to find an experienced hairstyle. it sounds like your hair would like longer layers rather than shorter ones though.
You hair looks as beautiful as always! An advice never dye it! lmao I dyed it a shade lighter about 4 months ago. Never again! I just feel like there not as loopy. Well that is what I believe since I dont use hair product. I learned my lesson though. Now im working at it. Im glad there someone out their making videos for us curly hair girls! thankyou(:
@laurenfelton my favorites are l'oreal voluminous and another from l'oreal that is voluminzing. it comes in an oblong, black tube, but i can't remember the name. i just have really longe eyelashes though lol. :)

Though for the bun one, I sometimes use Goody's spiral pins (two of them) to make the process easier and the buns to stay up better.
